Hello and welcome to another blog post!
I don't have too much time so let's not waste time, shall we?
Despite my previous blog post of childish content. i posted that because i am seeing a lot of big developers are not caring for their consumer products. And well i posted something that i wanted to post.
Anyway moving on.
Before i type the few updates i made in-game. I will like to offer an apology to the persons who were suppose to test an early build two months ago. I was very sick and didn't go to work for a good amount of time, meaning that i had to put many extra hours into my day job. The testers will get the game when i decide it's ready.
Let's get with the few updates i made.
Widescreen – Cinematic Cut-scenes.
I wanted to give the game a good sense of narrative. And i know that giving a narrative can be delivered in hundreds of ways.
Into the Darkness will have this black-bar when a cut-scene is triggered. It's a design choice i made and it felts very cinematic. Remember, these black-bars only appear when a cut-scene is triggered. Having this in gameplay wastes screen space.
Map Design/Level Design.
Level design or Mapping as we know in the RPG MAKER community is quite important as it is a part of the gameplay and game experience. I'm trying to give the play a sense of progression with smooth and smart map design. This takes quite a while as i try and in-vision what i want from a room/section. So i need to be very careful what i map or else i will just delete it and waste even more time. I had to crop this because i removed events to not give away anything.
Interactive environment.
People who would like to explore the world a little bit and see what secret this game has to offer, then you can have a huge interaction with the world. If you don't want to play the game so directly. You can stop by and read something. maybe a game tip or a story. Maybe something else you can find i've tried to make the world a bit interesting. and still am.
Not much updates you say? I'm still working on some features that need tweaking and fixing. Bugs and bugs keep appearing. Games take time, a lot of time and effort i must say. I'm creating a game where i want be scared and have fun from being scared something i would enjoy. if i enjoy it, then people will too!
That's all for today!
Feedback is well accepted.
