Wonder's War

New War's Wonder Allpha coming soon!

Yes you did read that title right… I hope…

 

So I've been working a lot on Wonder's War from the last alpha… or demo… it is technically an alpha because it is early in development, and also that version had a lot of glitches that I had to fix 3 times. So sorry if something went wrong for you, I made a list of all the glitches, bugs, and things not so good about the game, and fixed them for next time around.

 

This includes:
-The boss being too difficult, I nerfed him carefully.
-The intro being to long, I took away a chunk of it.
-Some text going off the screen, all fixed.
-Some audio and graphics not in the game, I'm not making that same mistake again.
-I fixed the encounter rate to be less intensive, but to a point where the
-And a bunch of glitches I've found myself that don't deserve to be named, they were in the city and in the sewers.

 

But other than these few things, I got a lot of positive comments on the game, such as the graphics looking fantastic, the music being nice, and a bit of funny content.

 

So in this new version I'm making, which is going to be 0.2, there will be a lot of improvements.
-More detailed surroundings.
-New areas.
-Like seriously, new areas.
-Improvements on the scripts I'm using.
-More characters to interact with.
-More items.
-Made the jumping animation more instantaneous.
-I improved almost every main character's graphic, now even the main character has a lot better animations. That's everybody except the man who you play as.
-I put in a lot more treasure and helpful items in the first two areas of the game, cause lack of items was a problem for some.
-I changed the look of the battle screen, hud, and victory screens.
-Better main menu screen.
-Improvements on the music loops, so they loop a lot better and smoothly.
-I improved the introductory cutscenes to look nicer, run smoother, and took the long running text, and switched it for something else, so you don't have to read… or not read that long line of text. You'll see what it looks like.
-I improved the jukebox that plays all the music you've heard in the game.
-Added in more character animation.
-More doge.
-Fixed text for characters.
-Fixed a no-clip bug I put in for myself to access the graphics test.
-I also balanced out the main character's attack and magic attack stats, they weren't before, as her character is meant to be a balance between physical and magical attacks. Now her physical attacks deal more damage, while her magic attacks deal less damage.
-Balanced out the 2nd main character's stats, he has now been demoted from the MLG squadron, I down'd his attack and up'd his defense.
-For specifics on areas I added in, I put in a school that teaches you some cool mechanics and ways to manage the way you use attacks I put into the game. It also has a lot of cool history about the city you can find within… or um… to convince you, I put in a swimming pool. Everybody loves swimming pools.
-Added a new area in the tower.
-You can now enter the first room of the factory.
-You can now go out on the docks.
-Changed part of the layout of the Mossy Cave, and added in lighting effects to the cave and the sewers.
-Another thing I added in was a bakery, called the "Java Nice Time Cafe". You can buy pastries, drinks, and a recipe book, speaking of which…
-I finally got it in myself to put the cooking system in.
-So that also means the grocery store is also now selling goods.
-And that rice at the beginning of the game is useful now.

 

And I have finally figured out how to do something I've always wanted to put into this game, and I found the way to do it just fine, and it's rather fun! Though it's going to take me a long time to make it since it requires a lot of eventing to do… and this will remain a secret until you find out what it is yourself.

 


So that's all, though this might take me till later this month, because right now I'm making a Macbeth game for an English assignment, I'm going to post it on GDU, and maybe if I need a break from Wonder's War for a bit, I'll make the whole Macbeth game, that game will be free, and have some of the same music track and graphics as Wonder's War since I don't want to pay for new graphics.
