I honestly don't know how to decide what is good and bad for age groups because somehow what I always go by is what my emotional stability would allow at the times- and honestly, I was very slow emotionally developing. A movie that was fine for my classmates was never good for me- I'd have a panic attack. But because of some of the possible trigger warnings i can see in my script for the future based on the character backgrounds…I'm gonna be safe and up it to like 16+ for now. I'm sure older teens can handle it- most I know could anyway. Heck I know some 12 year olds that could. But I'm taking it safe.
I'll make a list later to be safe too. But not sure where to post it yet. Or if I should if I'm not sure about them.

What kind of "trigger warnings" are you talking about? Unless it openly deals with rape, drugs, and alcohol without trying to hide what it actually is, 16+ could be a little high.
This is how I look at it. It's based on how the ESRB does it.
E/7+: May contain cartoon violence or implication of violence.
E10+: Contains violence, may contain a little tiny bit of blood and possibly 1 or 2 uses of mild swear words.
T/13+: Contains violence, probably blood, may show the use of alcohol and tobacco, probably contains swearing, may contain suggestive themes and possibly partial nudity
M/17+: Contains violence, blood, use of alcohol and tobacco, possibly drugs, probably contains the use of the "F" word, contains partial nudity and sexual themes. May contain nudity.
AO/18+: Basically just porn.

It'd probably be T or M then. One character has a total potty mouth, one was raped and had a miscarriage as part of her background and why she has a bizarre memory issue, etc. Oh and the alcoholism is very notable in one of the parents of a character…Who I have no idea if he's abusive or not. So far from what I'm aware he's just a boring useless drunk guy.

Ah, ic. 16/17+ Might be fine then. Carry on lol. Just wanted to make sure you weren't changing the rating because you were afraid a few people might be upset if they played it. Can't make everyone happy lol

Oh trust me I understand that feeling. When I was 13 I couldn't handle anything my peers could so just because it was rated PG13 or PG didn't mean I was allowed to watch anymore. I just go based on the general state things work.
