Still Not Understood
After being in my Design class for over year and a half, I'm still not understood, my art, my ideas, my names I think of are still unfamiliar water for most of my surrounding class mates. It's beginning to produce a dull cloud over me and dampen my spirits, only a couple people, three max, that understand and actually like my work. Although I must say that more people in my class tend to like the generic samey stuff of graphics design done in PhotoShop, you know the stuff, textures, shapes blah blah blah
I can see why most people find it hard to grasp and to even see why my stuff is relevent, I personally don't see whats so dam odd about it, I know the names/ titles I think of are completely obscure but at the same time are new, fresh and grab your attention. It's times like this that I wish I were still in my Fine Art course or applied for a 3 year degree course in Fine Art rather than Design, people there understood me and accepted anything I did and actually liked it.
Art is my life, it's what I do, it's what makes me who I am but at the time of deciding which degre course to take, Design was the future proof course, in Fine Art a successfull (profitable) career would be extremely hard or just plain lucky. The Design tutors pratically promised me that the Design course would benefit me mosy (agreed) and would suit my future career (video game art), but now the more I think of it, my art/ creations could easily attract attention and eventually build a name for myself, then eventually, hopefully, I could have sold my work for its fresh, unique and innovativeness.
Still, I'm always optimistic, always looking on the bright side and for future opportunities. Right now, I'm looking into selling my creations and I don't mean just on paper in frame.
aaaand that's my ramblings sorted for the day :) I couldnt get everything in, didn't want to bore you to death, if it has already then guess I'll see you in the after life later today... =D
