Website Updates, Spambot prevention and Blog Question

Firstly we'll start with the website. A couple of weeks ago I made an announcement to try and encourage users to upload their projects. It could have gone better, but at least there was some response, and not none at all. On the front page of the website is a paragraph to try and encourage new visitors to the site to upload and create articles for their projects. It says(links won't show up):
RMXP Unlimited is looking for more users to Share their creations in RPG Maker XP and RPG Maker VX.
We can help you do you this. RMXP Unlimited offers both hosting and Articles for your Projects.
Starting with the Downloads Manager, there are sections for RPG Maker XP and RPG Maker VX. It doesn't cost you a thing to have your Projects hosting here, and it's a great to get some people downloading and playing your games.
Secondly, you can create your own Article for other users to read about. Any member of RMXP Unlimited can create Articles in any section. In the User Menu on your left is an option to Submit an Article. Here you can design the page for your Project, and you can even use HTML! Other features inclue Lightboxes for your Screenshots and effects like reflecting images. Need a place to host your screenshots? Our RPG Maker Screenshots section in the Gallery has you covered.

Changes to the website is of course development of the Link Directory. Nisage has helped out quite a bit, hopefully more users will do so as well. If you know of any sites that have some good stuff, then please post the link in the Link Directory topic.
Another change(which I should have mentioned above) is the Projects categories on the website. Before there were Completed Games, Demos Games and Games in Development. Ark asked me before about the differences in the last two, and now I'm seeing what he was getting at. Demo Games is gone and Games in Development has take its place. There have been a lot of Spambots in the past 3-4 days. This has been the case with a lot of IPB forums and as a result IPB have released a spambot prevention system. I actually knew about this a day or two before the spambots hit us, so I'm sorry about not getting to it sooner. Emily PMed me about it which made me try to solved the problem. I'm a bit skeptic about whether or not the system is going to work or not because I didnt see much change on the registration page, but there have been no spam bots posting since the system was installed. If they do get past the system, I have another method of stopping them. I'm pretty confident we can stop them either way.
Lastly, as in the title, I have a Blogs question. Before I started this little project(The RMXP Unlimited Blog, yes its a project) I had a thought that it could be used by all staff members. I'll explain this idea:
I'll get a banned spambot account and rename something like Community Blog and give all the staff members the password(mods and teachers, but not reviewers). That way all the staff can post entries with their own updates and RMXP Unlimited related updates. The reason for this idea is that(as posted in the last entry), I'm on holiday at the moment(from school that is) so I have a bit of free time. In a weeks time I start my last term of highschool and have little or not time for this forum, because I will be forcing myself not to get distracted and not come online at all. I tend to do that.
So the question is: Would a community blog be a good idea and would you use it? Or would you prefer me to post all the entries with you guys just commenting?
