I have vista:( and my computer doesn't really have the specs to run vista and let me run programs that I could if say...i had xp. However, that being said, I dont really hate vista. but i wouldn't mind having a simpler OS. anywho.. external Hard Drive. I was thinking, since I don't want to get rid of vista, just have multiple boots, but with out being on one hard drive, that way i can dedicate a full partrition of a 320gb, maybe even a whole TB of space to windows xp, and let that be my main source of OS Now i havent installed an Windows OS in awhile, so i dont remember the ropes. But if im correct, I belive i can select which hard drive i would like to partrition? and there i can format it to FAT32. On my computer I can boot from external source. Ive already tested this out by booting linux from a 1gb flash drive. If i can boot from a flash drive why cant i boot from a external hard drive with a usb port since my computer can boot from the usb port. Is there a major diference between hard drives? so give me your feed back, thanks in ahead for reading my post

Easy to use game engine
tvheadstudios replied to tvheadstudios's topic in Computers, Internet and Tech Talk
I should have made my title a bit more clear, but you understand:D -
Im planning on making a list of free/easy to use game engines. The one im planning on showing is more like a map editor++ There is alot more features than basic map editors...well i havent tried any recent map editors, but good none the less... Its called the retribution game engine. Its a FPS engine. THe grapics are still stuck in the late 90's pc games, but its free and fun to play around with. Ill post a link http://www.apgardner.karoo.net/retrib/ You don't need a massive power house computer to run which is a plus, and most modern computers today should be able to pack quite alot with this game engine. If your intrested in some beta testing try atmosphir. I belive its OpenGL but im not positive. Atmosphir is a program in which you create 3d puzzle games, (don't stop reading, its actually really good) and share them with others users. People can rate them, comment them, etc... It has a few bugs that have really pissed me off, but its still really fun. Idk if its still in closed beta, i took 2 weeks to get invited, you will have to check the website.. Anyways i gota go. Enjoy ill edit later

I need some mapping advice. Can some link me a tut for maps. Im working on a city, and I could really do better... also working on an outside map. I've seen really good field maps. and i have no clue on how they do it!

Someone had sent me some harry potter sprites in an old topic of mine. and someone posted them on the resourses section. But they are too large, and dont match with the game. here they are Click the link Below My link so is there any way of resizing them with out messing up the entire template they are supposed to be in. I have photoshop, so resourses are not an issue.. thanks in advance!

Thanks:D Ill check her site out. That happens to be another major factor of the game, that i can forsee being a big curve in making the game. Dont get me wrong, its going to be a fun process. Just long. I would really like to get accurate information. I would need all the Spells, Classes, Teachers, Areas, inculding smaller areas too, I want to have the sandbox feel. And i have put some thought into data transfer. At the current moment, im unsure how I would go about doing this. If you know how, then that might also solve the In game Character Creator that i have in mind. I already have the Character Creator. When I release the beta, i would like the player to be able to utilize this program in game. However the creator would be limited at first. But im going to add more options to the console as i go, but at the main moment im not going to focus on that. Finishing the story and maps are my current prime consern. And agian, if you know how to do the data transfer go ahead and tell me, that would be sweet if i could get that in there:):):)
