  1. I'll just chime in here really quick. I really appreciate this thread. Stolen content is a huge issue on forums. As an artist, I feel strongly towards the creators whose content is stolen or goes uncredited. If anyone sees anything that they recognize, and you are fairly certain that it belongs to someone whose name is missing from the credits, please report it ASAP.
  2. The reason why I see grammar as a legitimate issue, is because I believe strongly in education. Learning more and bettering one's self should always be important. I realize the state of the educational systems, but that's no excuse for someones lack of ability. It's not hard to open a book. I learned how to read/write from reading all sorts of books. Your best teacher truly is yourself, sometimes. "If you can't see why attacking a person verbally is a problem, then you're part of the problem." Once more, That was not being verbally attacked. Let me tell you a story... Once upon a time, I was a young kid (maybe 11) and had found a cool RPG Maker forum. This forum was populated by legends like Don Miguel (The original translator for RM2k) and this made me feel inadequate There was one guy there especially that shot down absolutely everything I made. He told me that I would never amount to anything and that my work was garbage. He especially attacked my attempts at creating my own websites. At the time, I didn't know any HTML/CSS and so I was using things like bravehost, ucoz, etc. This one guy was so attacking in his words, that instead of making me cry like a baby, I took it as a challenge. I won't amount to anything? Really? Fast forward 10 years... I am an expert in my field of web design/front end development. I have been published by webdesign tuts+, Adobe reposted my tutorial on their facebook, I helped start my own successful company, and I attribute all of this to that one guy who tried to bring me down. That is my issue with today's society. Someone makes fun of you, or says your work is bad? Suddenly he is now a bully and should be barred from using the internet? No. Without my "bully" I would not be who I am today. True story.
  3. His location was stated as Michigan. As for age, if you're too young to understand proper sentence structure, then you're too young to be engaging with strangers on the internet like that in the first place.
  4. AS far as grammar goes, you go to school for a reason. You don't get to simply forget your lessons when the school day comes to a close. And as for the online client, if you are so immersed in the RPG Maker world, and have never treaded into multiplayer, then an "Online Client" really could mean a few different things, none of which have clear parameters.
  5. I dunno, trolling can be extremely fun. Plus, I didn't see anything wrong with the way they addressed him. His question was unclear, his grammar was painful, and they simply wanted to address the difficulty in the understanding of the issue before they could even address the issue.
  6. Will be creating a video on this, but in case you missed the new Xbox unveiling, you can see some screen shots that I took, here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/96134353@N04/

  7. http://www.youtube.com/user/Voobus?feature=guide I am still new to making videos, so theyre still a bit odd. I am getting better with them, though.
  8. My current videos are more or less let's plays, but I'd love to move into a more informational realm like you have. I plan on doing indie game reviews, video game news (like the new xbox unveling tomorrow), and possibly other stuff. We should do a video together sometime.
  9. Just watched a video of yours, and I must say. I am pleasantly surprised at how well you articulate yourself in the videos. You seem to be a natural commentator. Subscribed.
  10. I don't have any sort of following (I make the videos for fun), but I get a few views here and there. I'd be willing to review some games occasionally. http://www.youtube.com/user/Voobus
  11. Yeah, it's been pretty difficult so far. You'll see in my next few videos that I'm not quite good at this game... yet? maybe? lol. I might go bankrupt and have to start over. We'll see. I updated/improved the video cover image. See it here: http://hostr.co/lgHi7BZvLgQX youtube will probably take a good while to clear its cache and update it. -- It seems to have updated, probably have to clear your personal cache to see it on youtube, though. Who knows, maybe not.

    Why are you here?

Skype me about this.... if it is what I think it is, I am totally on board!
  14. I would also prefer less/no cussing. It's really more of a personal thing, but I get turned off really quickly from a rap song when it has cussing in it, which is most. Almost every rapper feels they need to swear in their music, which is fine, but everyone swears like a highschool freshman in rap. Use your words tastefully. Flinging around cuss words, simply because "That's what is done in rap" is bad. I'd love to see some inspirational lyrics, with little to no cussing, and if you cuss, use it tastefully. I generally don't like rap. I like some, but you've gotta really impress me.
  15. My critique would be that you need to really enunciate your lyrics. I could understand everything you said, but you need to be a bit more agressive in your approach, even for a chill song. It's all about engaging with your audience. Otherwise, glad to see someone doing something they enjoy. That's really all it comes down to.
  16. Just updated the original post with Episode 1 of series 2!
  17. Minecraft Extravaganza with Voobus & Sgt_Munch Finale is now available!
  18. Turns out that you can grab the BrowserQuest source code. I'll be using it as a basis for my HTML5 tutorials.

  20. Seriosuly, take a listen and really hear the lyrics. This song is so cool:

  21. I only just started to learn how to make an HTML5 game, and I already have a sprite rendering on the canvas, and you can control it. Man, I'm good.

  22. Trying to learn a different/new game creation software so I can write up some tutorials for you guys!

    1. Marked

      Marked

I support this :> If you like, I can add a category in the tutorials system. You should test out writing a tutorial in it, it's fun.

Let me get my feet wet, first. I haven't done anything with HTML5 games yet. I only just today understood programming logic. Don't ask me how, I often have these awkward moments of revelation where I finally understand something, even on accident. It's how I learned jQuery a while back, too. I'm weird.

    3. Bigace360

      Bigace360

I also support this, it would be good to have other things besides RPG maker once and a while. Draws in other people.

  23. Yeah, that filehost is as safe as it gets, yet even facebook whines about it if you click a link from someones wall, or whatnot.

  25. Well, w3schools is miselading in that they DO offer a certificate after completion of their studies. However, I think you should read this: http://w3fools.com/ "W3Schools.com is not affiliated with the W3C in any way. Members of the W3C have asked W3Schools to explicitly disavow any connection in the past, and they have refused to do so." "W3Schools offers certifications whose value is highly debatable… No employers recognize or respect W3Schools certificates. Unlike Microsoft’s MCP or Cisco’s CCC, W3Schools has absolutely no authority over the technologies for which they claim to provide certification. Unlike CompTIA’s ANSI/ISO accredited certifications, W3Schools has no support from governing standards bodies." "W3Schools frequently publishes inaccurate or misleading content. We have collected several examples illustrating this problem below." I recommend reading that whole site.
