  1. Could anyone recommend me a good dual band router that's also relatively affordable, ideally $150 and below? I can go a bit higher if need be, but I swear I'm gonna murder someone if I have to go through one more "Top 10 Router" list only to have each router I look up have less than favorable reviews.

I use a bufffalo router. its not dualband but its got awesome range and is wireless N. I dont personally see a reason to use dualband. This is the one i got. http://www.amazon.com/BUFFALO-AirStation-HighPower-Gigabit-Wireless/dp/B0028ACYEK i dont see why its $150 when i bought it brand new for $80. had it for about 5-6 years now and it still works great. I installed the DDWRT firmware on it cause that firmware is beast.

Well, I found an ASUS one that looks pretty good all around. I have an ASUS laptop and never had a problem with it so maybe their other products are pretty good as well? I think I'll keep the older one for my prehistoric desktop and use the newer one to connect the newer devices on the 5ghz, as my neighborhood is swamped by a lot of 2.4ghz routers on various channels and less traffic seems...better. The ASUS model is supported by DDWRT as well.
