After doing some more experimentation (and inserting that code, thanks!), the lag only seems to kick in now when I have 3 or 4 party members... otherwise it's totally smooth. Any idea what's causing this?

I'm not sure if anyone else has this problem (and pardon me if this has been discussed a billion times), but for some reason whenever I make a text window appear in a battle, the game slows down pretty dang bad. Sometimes it runs perfectly smooth though. Anyone know the cause/remedy for this? Example (pardon the crazy alien jargon): Thanks, BlackDove

I'm just starting out so I can't read it very well yet... but I believe it reads (and forgive me if I romanize this wrong) "Yitsaak Adom Yeshayahu Daviyd". : ) I have the Rosetta Stone program for Hebrew, which works really well. I just need to be more diligent with it, haha. My Japanese is rather elementary as well, as I have not studied it in a long time... but I can read it okay, and with my Kanji dictionary I can figure most stuff out eventually, haha.

I gave up drinking most soda (I used to be a Dr. Pepper fiend), but my favorite beverages would have to be water, lemonade, Ribena (black currant juice), guarana, and cranberry. As far as alcohol goes, I'm not much of a drinker at all, but every once in a while I do enjoy some Ouzo, Bailey's Irish Cream, or vodka + cranberry.

Awesome! I'm learning Modern Hebrew, and I know some Biblical Hebrew as well. I also speak a little bit of German and Japanese. The hardest language I've encountered by far is Estonian though... it has like 14 different grammatical cases. I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around that one. o_o; I also speak a fictional language I've been working on since I was a kid (and am using it in my RPG), but I don't think that counts. xD

Hey everyone! I hate that my first post on here is a script request (and I hope I'm doing this in the right place), but I was wondering if anyone knows of/has/can make a XP script that makes an actor learn a particular skill(s) when they equip a specific weapon. E.g. Bob equips a sword, he learns "Decapitate"; or Sally equips a spear, she learns "Impale", etc. Naturally, if said actor unequips the weapon, they forget the respective skills. I have that kind of system running in my game with common events/parallel processes and stuff, but if I add any more depth to it, it really starts to lag... so I figure a script is the way to go. As far as what I can offer in return though if you have to make a script from scratch, I am a novice electronic musician and really enjoy making simple video game music (like mood music, character themes, etc) and am willing to do a trade if you like.
