    what does the meta-inf folder do? it just becomes a problem everytime i update minecraft, since i have to remember to delete it when re-installing zombe's mod pack.

      AND re-downloading it, since the version i have before the update never works. but zombe is very good at keeping his mods up to date, so it's all good.

      meta-inf for minecraft i think is used to check the files to see if they have been changed/moded. If it sees its changed/moded i think you get the forever black screen when starting the game.
