  1. URL is in the signature, forum is on the left. Opera has very strict CSS standards don't worry about that :). This is the warning I am getting... Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /mounted-storage/home90a/sub009/sc47804-NPGF/rmxpunlimited.net/components/com_news/views/default/view.html.php on line 71 Warning: preg_replace() [function.preg-replace]: Empty regular expression in /mounted-storage/home90a/sub009/sc47804-NPGF/rmxpunlimited.net/components/com_news/views/default/view.html.php on line 167 Sadly I know how to fix this I just don't remember... encountered it on one of my forums right after IPB update.
  2. If you would like Marked I have many themes installed on my website...You can browse which ones look best. Also these look like cache errors...Try re-importing the application hooks and check modding the correct files. Also you might want to run a clean up for old skin images that are trying to display on your banner. :/ EDIT: Make sure you check your config aswell for allowed URL's. There might be incompatible characters in the url. IE someone chaned the root directory *ahem* Host.
  3. I was joking...I am renowned internet wide for my bad jokes :/. I just found out that even with using an external program to create the maps in VX then exporting it to a .png, it seems doing it this way would result in the player not being able to move behind the object! This is a huge draw back for me...I see that XP will probably be the one I choose. Unless I can find a work around for this.
  4. Yes, the game was made for PS2 called RPG maker 3...
  5. I agree they, probably were working on RPG maker DS. As Enterbrain doesn't have a lot of money they probably focused on one or two tasks...I think if the DS version goes well they can renew investor interest. Even if they don't Enterbrain only has a few successful franchises, I think they will have little choice if they want to remain in business. That's my opinion anyway...but who knows.
  6. Thank you, this forum is very friendly :). It is my hope to stay.
  7. Yes but this is a minor fix for this problem, as opposed to XP were it is not possible to fix. Enterbrain has been removing features since 2k3 and adding *SOME* features back. I'd imagine we are due for another till then VX will have to do. Unless someone can point out something I didn't find out already...
  8. I disagree with this Kiriashi, VX has better frame rate and higher resolution. Though 10fps shouldn't make that much of a difference, it does. So far in my research I have come across one valid argument. But this was rectified shortly after. The argument is that the mapping system...well...in VX is terrible, they are right! but this is invalid, as there are many tile editors out there that support many many layers. Just simply export to a .png and add the clear walkable tiles, problem solved. Also I have been digging around to find out why exactly XP scripting is better? Continued off my topic found here. what is the reason specifically? I see everyone here prefers XP and over on another forum they prefer VX. I am just trying to get to the bottom of this before I make my purchase, not so much the loss of money as it would be the loss of time in picking the wrong version.
  9. Yeah I did see that thread, plus there are many others...but none explain why XP is so much better at scripting. I get that VX is easier but why is XP favored? What exactly does it do that makes it better?
  10. Following the thread found here I am looking to purchase one or the other and I would like some help if possible... I know many here tend to favor XP, my question is why? Besides the "limited tile issue" what else am I not aware of? Why is scripting better in XP vs VX? simplicity again is not really a factor in my decision. I would just like to know what are all the faults that I will run into if I choose VX over XP. I am sorry if this question keeps coming up, but if you remove the map out of the equation I don't see how XP is better that VX. Thanks :)
  11. Ah I didn't know XP had a side view battle script! Thanks. But I've already been messing around with the VX side view system seen here: With an ATB. Though it does bring XP a little up to par in my comparison of the two...
  12. About to purchase VX or XP.

I downloaded a keygen and tried em both. Then bought RMXP. The mapping is just so much better.

  13. Hello, I'm new here and thought I'd say hey :)... I've recently got into rpgmaker as a whole. I haven't yet decided what version to get yet. I'm heavily leaning in the direction of VX. But not cause its "easier" in fact! The way I plan to make the maps is harder than XP. The VX Version supports much more features I need without a work around avatars,lighting,animation,ect...The only shortfall that I can see to VX vs XP is the map system (I have overcome this)in turn it would be much more work in XP, unless I am wrong. Here is what I need XP to do: Support higher frame rate (Looks choppy don't know why 50fps should be plenty) Support higher resolution. Support avatars found in VX/2K3 (Found a work around for this) Get rid of the cruddy battle system. Here is what I need VX to do: A better map and layering system (Overcame this issue) Support a "fog" system. (Seen a script that does this) Other short falls I am sure to bump into. Now I am not looking to get into the age old debate of "mine is better" I'm just looking to get the best version based on the above...if anybody say some clarifications like a script that allows 60fps and higher resolution on XP that would be great! Things I am not doing like "I choose VX cause its easier" like mentioned before I intend to make this a pretty decent size project and not take the easy route, this is not a factor in my decision as I find XP very easy as well. Thanks to all for having me :).
