I would suggest keeping a copy online and on a flashdrive somewhere and backing it up daily to those places.

Rgangsta and I lost an important game project we worked for two years.

The project is called 'Tsurugi's Hold.' My HDD corrupted itself and lost the game. And rgangsta' s PC died on him. So we completely lost the project. Although we saved the art assets we couldn't re-create the same game. So rgangsta started to conceptualize CyberDrive and later on was in the project.
