    Automatic Text

Ok, so I am trying to make my character move while a few text windows cycle through. sadly, the proccess is still dependant of me pressing a button rather then having the text cycle on its own. I guess its kind of a into cinematic I am trying to create... Is there anything I can do to archive this? I mean, to make the Text Cycle on its own?
  3. Thanks Giving... What is it really? To the point of view of this here Dutch guy, it seems like nothing more then an excuse to be with your family while stuffing your face up with food.
  4. I have the luck of having the Japanese character sets on my pc, and a Japanese wife. and so, I can tell you that this website is nothing more then a general information sales page. IOW: There is a Buy button you got to use before you get anything. Also, the program its self is Japanese, not English. on a side note, this program is for RPG maker 2k and 2003.
  5. Well... I am still trying to get this project on track. sadly, there aren't many interested in helping out in area's in which I totally suck. I contacted a close friend who can make sprites, but he is a little bit busy at this point. I have also been digging left and right to find modern/Sci-Fi Tile sets and what not. with no luck so far. I can not even find any decent sprites for generic characters that have a modern theme. I did however, make two new websites: www.swordsmenwiki.org: the name says it all really, its a wiki for the written novel. you will find information of the characters and such. and even a few drawings of said characters. www.legendoftheswordsmen.org: hosts the stories themselves.
  6. I have actively started working on this, But sadly I can not do this alone... I need people that can. Create tilesets from scratch Create battlers Create Icons and maybe someone that good at scrimping later on, but for now the above three is what I need the most. 'Legend of the Swordsmen' ('LOTS' for short) isn't a medieval themed game, it takes place ca 1990-1998. LOTS is depicted from a story I've written a while back, but here is the gist of the story: Thomas (Main character) Is a boy of 10 years old and he is a descendant of a long line of military experts, with their family leading an elite branch of military specialist in Holland. Being the next in line to lead the branch, Thomas was trained is martial arts since an early age. at a funeral his grandpa, who was the commander of the branch, was targeted for assassination by a sniper. the attempt failed, but Thomas was directly in the line of fire for the bullet that missed its target. before anyone knew it, the bullet had cough his mother who had stood in front of him when the shot was fire. the bullet did go through his mother and hit Thomas in the left eye, but there wasn't enough kinetic energy to actually go any further then that and damage the brain. having survived that while his mother died, Thomas lives with survivors guild, which no one was ever able to help him with. to make manners worse, his grandpa doesn't act like a grandpa should as he hides behind his rank and treats Thomas like a soldier. at age 14, Thomas joins the military branch of his family and enters active duty at age 15. Thomas his motives are to make his mother proud by following in her footsteps of being an elite soldier. He becomes a Rear Admiral at age 18, which is when he meets his wife to be in Japan. Funny enough, his future wife appears to be the daughter of Yusuke Futuba. the man who taught Thomas everything he knows about swordsmanship and martial arts. even funnier is the fact that when Thomas his mother was still alive, Yusuke and his mother and actually allready planned for the two of them to marry. Sadly, the plan never came that far because Thomas his mother died, and his grandpa was only intent on making Thomas the perfect soldier to lead the family branch afterwards. another thing that worked against the plan, was that Thomas didn't understand what affection really was. the meaning of the words 'I love you' was a mystery to him, because of his up bringing being to abnormal. However, the Original reason why Thomas was in Japan, is that Sora is one of the leading professors in the field of Cybernetics in Japan. and she had successfully created a Cybernetic eye for those who had lost their eyes do to injury or war. at a certain point a Local shrine, where a relative of the Futuba family was a priestess, started to run into trouble with Yakuza's wanting to take over. knowing that Thomas was living a few miles away, they asked for his help. but his helping them drive off the invaders came at a price. as a retaliation, the Yakuza had attacked the home he was living in with sora, and kidnapped her while killing Sora's maid. Thomas managed to save Sora. but because Thomas didn't grow up and develop normally, he too retaliated against that. where others would just sit around while waiting for the police to do their job, Thomas actually started his own personal war with the said Yakuza. After having fought through an in tire 20 story high building, he confronted the leader who surrendered to him. After quite a while, Thomas finally leared to express his feelings for Sora. actually saying that he loves her, and wants to protect her until the end of time. which is when they got married after taking some flak from his grandpa. The End. If you want to know more or read the actual story then click here. it will take you to the first chapter on Fanfiction.net.

  9. No, good is correct. It's just the exact opposite of what he means. :) Marked is correct. The Google translation was correct, and at the same time it was incorrect. in terms of a literal Dutch to English translation, its highly accurate. sadly, some words in dutch can have a different context depending on the use. which is similar to the English "Thats not a bad Idea" Still, I prefer English over Dutch :P Oh lol. Yeah, but the main Character in my story isn't totally Dense as Sousuke. though he does retain a little bit of his Military view towards the world. also the manner in which the main character (Named 'Thomas Dutch' by the way) reacts to certain situations is mostly hugely out of proportions. for example: If someone close to you got killed, and you know who the killer was, you would step towards the local authorities. Thomas for this matter doesn't do that, he will start a personal war to get payback. Another major differance between Thomas and Sousuke, would be that Sousuke uses Guns but Thomas uses Swords as his prefered weapon. Thanks for the link Marked. I'll check it ASAP. as for locations, Dutch Urban area's, Japanese Urban area's, military bases. Area's you'd come across regular. thats what I need the tile sets for. I could always try to make them myself. Sadly, I fear that I'll end up with a half assed job so I'd rather try to find existing stuff thats better then anything I can create.
  10. Huh?..... OH, Dutch. Yeah, its dutch... *ahem* Allow me; Translation: Ah well, Together we'll come to a solution. A futuristic project doesn't sound too bad /Translation With all do respect Alliehj, I'd prefer that you'd keep using English as not everyone can understand Dutch. In addition, I am a horrible Native Dutch person because I am unable to write Dutch properly. also my skill in speaking it is starting to become lacking. As I have it in my mind now, the RPG I wanted to make would be a based on a Story I've written. the Story is called: 'Legend of the Swordsmen'. thats the link to the story on Fanfiction.net, no registration needed to view it. if you want the short form, 'Legend of the Swordsmen' (often referred to as 'LOTS') revolves around a young boy with a military back ground that grows up with the most horrible of experiences of the world. at one point, he joins the Military at age 14, but manages to get a wife who is Native Japanese. the story I've linked you too is just first part of a long Saga as it were. and this story is basically where you see him and his future wife growing up, and in the end getting married. From close friends I've had so many good comments, so I figured that it might be worth making an RPG out of. also, you might find it interesting to know that LOTS is sadly not a complete original story, but actually an original story with a lot of crossing over into existing things. Hope that tickels anyonce fancy
  11. Hello dudes. I'm from Holland, and I'm new around here ("Duh" factor there though.) My reason for joining is that I have started to take a fancy to RPG Maker XP. Mainly because I enjoy to write stories when I have some time to spare. A friend of mine introduced me to this wonderful program, and I wanted to try and make a RPG out of one of the stories I've written. sadly, I don't know my way around this site, and though there are some sweet tools and utilities on this website, like the Character maker that is downloadable from this website. sadly, all the stuff I find out there are medivel styled. while I am looking for modern things. about 1990 - present and beyond is the range of resources I need. so i was opening that someone around here can point me in the right direction. because for a new guy, the wealth of information around here is overwhelming.
