College is coming down the road and gaming time is about to start so we have decided to put up a minecraft server again. Last one went well and it was a nice learning experience for us. This time its different. We took everything we learned from last time and put it to good use this time. If you wish to join the servers beta feel free to, the IP is on the 1st post. Right now we have a Bio Sphere map till 1.8 comes out. Once 1.8 comes out we are going to make a new map and have it as the main map. Dont worry tho the Bio Sphere map will still be there and you will be able to have access to it. It will function like our skylands map We have several new plugins that will enhance the way you play. Iconomy: Our money system. A shop system where you can actually build a real shop that can be manage its self.(uses iconomy money) MCMMO: an RPG plugin with skill leveling. EX: higher mining might give you double blocks form mining. And a bunch more :P This will be a 99% legit server. Not even the admins or mods will spawn items or any powers to benefit themselves. Once 1.8 comes out we will go to a whitelist server and all current people at the time will be added.

It doesnt take to long. Took me 3 hours to do that.; But i already had in mind what i wanted. It dont take up to much system resources if you have the ram. CD Art Display in the lower left takes up about a good 5.2mb of ram Rain meter in the lower right and top takes up about 11.5mb of ram Rocketdock on the bottom takes up about 6mb of ram so 22.7mb of ram total. Not much at all. only takes up a very small fraction of your ram. most people now days have 2gb and up. I can make a tutorial for you if no one joins. It will be mostly windows 7. well 75% of it will be. As a coder i know you will love making skins for rainmeter :P. As for judging it will be up to the community and whoever is in top will win and we will have a 2nd place prize. If people tie for first we will have a tiebreaker but if people tie for 2nd we will split the prize or have a tiebreaker if they wish to have one.

Same as a manager really. We make sure members are being good and not breaking rules, we make sure things are in the right places and people are not doing illegal things on the site. Staff members are here to help members with the site and forums. Nothing to do with putting content up. We are no different than a normal member and shouldn't be treated different. We just have the power to help others and keep peace.

Should we have a contest where you have to customize your desktop to look awesome? By awesome i mean not just adding a wallpaper and calling it customized. Here is an example of mine. Not much has been done but it looks better than the traditional background and icons desktop. Everything functions also. Lower right shows information about my system. lower left lets me see what music is playing and i can skip, pause, play, stop music. Top shows me how long my computer has been on and tells me what my wireless signal is. Bottom is a dock with programs i use every day. If people are interested in this contest i will be glad to give links to some of the stuff i use to customize my desktop and maybe give some tutorials if requested :). The desktops will be judged by the community so everyone can join in on the fun. EDIT: Not sure what the prize is going to be yet. I can give points. To poor to give money or i would.

I think we should get rid of the spam area completely. Gets way to overused and makes us look like a spam community.

Some people dont even know that you can change every aspect of your computer. You can change everything from the loading screen when you first start windows to changing the whole shell/GUI of the OS. This contest will encourage people to explore around and see all the neat things they can do with their OS. You can learn about important system files and what they do, learn about ways to speed up your computer. The list goes on forever. I learned a few system files have to be replaced in order to get the look i was looking for. It gives people a chance to feel more at home with their computers.

We should have a desktop overhaul contest. So far from what i see from people is different backgrounds and thats it. It would give a people a chance to explore their computer even more and maybe learn something out of it.

I dont think we should remove any content we have now. If we remove what we have people will look at the site as dead(even knowing its new) and wont even bother joining. If we keep what we have people will see were an active community and join the community the be apart of it and maybe they will introduce a game maker they use and get others to sue it and bring other users that use that maker. Starting fresh will just kill us even more, if not all the way. I say we keep all our content. It will help up start the other site up. Cant run a ship that has no fuel or it will be very slow :P.

The parents are 1000000% at fault for any kid playing video games. Before i came home my sisters use to play games all the time because my mom let them. Now that im home i make them get off of the games and go outside if they like it or not. They usually dont like it at first but they always find something fun to do outside. For kids that age to be playing games all day is wrong. They need to get out and learn about the real world and not some fantasy land. A sheltered life is a bad life. It doesn't prepare kids for anything, it cripples them. 1-2 hours a day is a good amount they should be allowed but never 2 hours in a row. I usually make my sisters play outside for 2-3 hours before i let them come in and play games for 1 hour then its back outside. I think your sister really needs to step up to the plate and set some ground rules if she doesn't want her kid to fail at life. Because that's what will happen. I would know because it happened to my best friend. All she does is play games all day and has no job, and lives with her grandma. Note: she is 22 years old and has no plans for life.

Your best bet is to just contact your ISP. Most ISP's these days are using static. Well all of the ones in my area are. Its kind of hard to find out if they are dynamic or static unless you talk to a tech person who works for the ISP. Most people who sell you the internet connection dont know what they are talking about. The guy who hooked up my internet knew nothing about networking(didnt even know what ISP was) lol.

Something to do and a nice way to get my story/ideas out there.
