Sorry it's been so long since I've updated, I've been without the internet for a while. The Academy section is going pretty well, we could always use more teachers/students though. :P We have also added a section for active members to request scripts, there are some requirements though. You should just head on over and check out the thread. RmRevolution's script for the Elite!
  2. I had the same idea with my sites resources, I was going to have it so guests can view the resources, but not be able to save/download them unless they registered. My members talked me out of that, with pretty much what I said before. Most people won't join a site that they HAVE to join in order to get the content, most will join when they like the content they received, and want to contribute back, or have questions.
  3. Though that will help cut down on inactive accounts, it will also push people away from joining. Though us admins may not like it, most people join RPG Maker forums, just to get the little help they may need, or some resources, and then leave. I think making the 15 post requirement will make it so some people won't join, most people I have talked to about making it so "guests", and new members are limited as to what they see, say they wouldn't join a site where they couldn't see what they will get first. The only reason I joined was to give my input on a question asked in the RPG Help area, if I couldn't have seen that before I joined, I probably wouldn't have. As for reinstalling, I voted "Bad idea, but I will come back if it's done". I think if it can be avoided at all, even if that means losing some/most of the mods, don't do it. If it's completely necessary, then I guess go for it.
  4. Though I haven't been an extremely active member, nor have I been here for very long, but I am a member. :P As for reinstalling the whole forum, I know with SMF if you backup the database, it keeps all the current members, and stats etc. If I remember right, it didn't keep the mods/themes, though I'm not sure how these forums would work. If you must completely reinstall to fix it, you will most likely lose a good amount of members, not saying people won't rejoin, but the ones who have registered in the past, and don't visit often, would probably not sign up again. Though, I say if you must, go for it. As for Leon for manager, I haven't been a member long, so I don't really know anyone. From what I can see, Leon would make an awesome admin, he seems to care about the members, and there happiness which is a major part of being an admin. And as for the apology, I only slightly remember what was posted, and then never read it after my post. Although what you said was rather harsh, I don't think it's a bit deal. So in short, it's fine.

There have been some updates to the site/forums. I've edited the shop points/items quite a bit. We've added some new mods, boards and groups. On the site, we've made a deal with scripters: Zeriab, Falcon, and Nitt, to host an online scripts database. It will have scripts from all of them. You should definitely check that out. We've also finished adding a ton of resources to the downloads section, a must see. :D
  7. The only thing I can think of, would be to talk to the trap17 admins, and see if he can take over your hosting. The other option would be to switch hosts. Good luck.
  8. What's to worry about? I think this site is doing pretty well, it doesn't have a whole lot of activity at this moment ( thought I have only been here for a week or so), but it's summer time now. I imagine it would pick up quite a bit. Assuming that's what you were talking about. ;o

Much appreciated. I'm glad you think we have potential. Thanks for the tips, I'll remember those. :]

Thank you very much, I appreciate that. Did you visit the forums? If so, do you have any suggestions for me? I'm fairly new to this, I'm pretty much accepting any and all suggestions/feedback.
  11. http://www.rmrevolution.rmrk.net ** Due to the site being hacked last night, we have switched hosts and are now hosted by rmrk.net** We managed to salvage most of the files, and should have everything running at full capacity in just a couple of hours. Sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your time. It's obviously a RPG Maker related site, mainly for support, and help. I started this forum about a month ago. It's not big by any means, but we're getting members, as well as content. I currently use trap17 as my host, but I plan to buy hosting, and a domain as soon as I get my bank account mess resolved. It uses SMF forums, we don't currently have too many mods on there, simply because I like to keep things fairly simple, and think content is most important. Good members never hurt though. :P We have a shop system, which is still in the works, that enables you to get points by posting, and use the points to buy "items". If you want to check it out go to RmRevolution and join the forums if you'd like. We've got an IRC chat system up and running, as well as some other mods. We have tags, so you can add your favorite youtube videos on the site, as well as
  12. That's the main thing I hated about the RTP ship tileset, the backend never looks right. It doesn't quite fit with the rest of the ship. That's the reason the back of mine is the way it is. I think it's a nice alternative. What you have done looks pretty good though, nice job. :P
  13. Not bad, is it finished? I wanna see how you did the back part of the ship, and the sails. :D
  14. You may not have a mapping style, but he might. Judging by that, I would say the mapping could be very different. I just would rather help someone learn to do something themselves, than to do it for them. That's just how I am, I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that. Maybe you could post screenshots of your map, I can try to see if I can help out that way. Maybe I could point out some errors, or maybe give some pointers. :)
  15. I have made a RTP ship tutorial, and I'm considering making one for the pirate ship tileset I have. Here's some pictures of the ships I made, they're pretty basic, but you get the idea. Making a ship from RTP isn't hard really, I just always hated the backend. :x If you need some help the best way to do it, is just try to find screenshots of other people ships, and try to learn from that. Or find a tutorial. I wouldn't recommend having someone else make a map for you, seeing as how their mapping style would most likely be completely different from your own.
