  1. Having a plan is a great idea. One of the things that makes me bored is the mapping and populating of a city, especially a big city. They say give each character a personality, make them individualistic. Sometimes that seems to be too much work. Several ways to reduce the boredom of city making is have a topic of that city (the king was assasinated, city excells in this area and weak in others) and then get most of the people to talk about or around those subjects. Another thing is that with the characters inside the city, give them roles to play instead of a particular personality. That could also reduce bordom and time constraints.
  2. I will look again. Thanks really, sorry if this comes off as completely rude but are these compatible with XP?
  3. Does anyone know where I can find some decenent vampire sprites?
  4. I will say at the beginning that I use RPG Maker XP. But this discussion can fit onto any engine. When people make Demos for their upcoming games, there is always this little thing about whether or not the save files that are saved for the demo can be transferable to the final product. What does it take to make a tranferable save file from demo to final product? Two things I have learned is the placement of items, maps, and equipment is important for the transfer (that is where they are in the lists and number of the map, this also includes switches and vairables), the other thing is characters. If you offer a demo with only four characters in it, but the total game has eight, if the save is to be properly tranferable, you would already need all eight characters designed and developed within the engine even if you only offer the demo with four. If you only design four with the demo, and then the person tries to use the save for the final product problems can occur. I had that experience while developing my own game and play testing it. Any comments on this?
  5. If no one knows where if there is a characterset for this battler, would someone know where I might find a characterset that would have the hair of that battler, or something close to it. Please have it be white, because I do not know how to recolor.
  6. Hi, Does anyone know if there is a characterset for this battler. It's one of Naramura's.
  7. How would I use the variable?
  8. Hello, I have a question concerning a certain item in my inventory that I would like to have accessible only on a specific map, in this case my world map. is there an eventing way to do that or do I have to do it through scripting?
  9. To anyone who has wondered where they might find a reliable animations tutorial, and can't seem to find one, I am going to be posting a page that, with the help of Nisage and others, I have found to be fairly informative. http://rmxp.tigerseye.uk.com/tutorial_data8.shtml There is one thing I would like to add. The animation cells have a specific size to them. Meaning if you find a really nice animation from on the web there is a chance that it could be too big or too little. If it's too big, then that single animaiton will be in several different cells, or if their too little, as my personal experience has been, then they will be crammed together within a single cell. If that is the case then resizing will be needed. now I don't know the exact cell size on the editor. The way I have resized my animations is looking at those animations that were the proper size, mostly by going on how many animation cells were in each picture, and then resized the smaller ones to the size of the right ones.
  10. I know this should probably be on the tutorial request page, but someone has already placed a request there, and it hasn't been answered. Does anyone know where I might find a good indepth tutorial on animations. No seriously. I have no idea where to look. I would like it to be very informative, and will also give tips on imported animations as well. And if possible one that isn't a video.
  11. In one of my dungeons I have a light that is flashing on and off. Now I understand that in order to make it flash properly and continually I need to set the event onto parallel process, and that to keep it flashing, I need to loop it, so I did. The question comes in with me wanting to use it as a teleporting devise. you go up to the light hit the command key, and you teleport to another place, but for that to work, the event needs to be set on action button. I tried using a conditional branch to get the button effect, but with that problem, anywhere I am on the map, and I push the button, I teleport form that area and not in front of the light like I want to. How do you set up a paralell process that also has an action button to it. I want it to be that my character is facing the light, or looking at it in some way, and then the teleporting effect activates.
  12. how would I do that? This is not something I'm familiar with.
  13. I am trying to work with a variable, the idea is that there is an item and has been split into two pieces, and then the characters have to go look for those two pieces, and then have to get the two pieces together. This is how the varialbe is suppose to look, but when it comes to making it work, i am still having trouble. The item is called the Blue Orb. Well this is one of them.
  14. Does any one know where I might find a character set for these battlers. i would imagine that it is the same one.
