  1. Nihau Mao! I never played .hack, but the idea would be a really funny interplay of real-world and game-world. My main emphasis is just to have really great combat with a really funny plot to move it along. Story not so serious yet with philosophical undertones, as well as SERIOUS combat. It would be fun to inject pop-culture references as well, as well as references to internet or online gaming culture. It would be quite satirical of RPGs and MMO`s, the people who play them, etc. See below, I`m posting the introductory speech to the game, I think it captures the spirit of the game. I would like to make it side-view battle system but I would need someone to help me with that.. I`m not good with scripting and had problems with Minkoff and Tatenkai. I also see you are a mapper, thats great, mapping is my weakness. Let me know if you have any other questions. -Buckethead INTRO I grew up lonely, finding comfort in tales of heroism, romance and exploration. Growing up, nothing every interesting happened to me. Save for a few islands of genuine adventure, I have been confined to drift among a sea of routine, mediocrity, ennui. Unlike my catholic schoolmates, who were encouraged to imitate sorrowful saints, virtuous virgins and masochistic martyrs, I modeled myself after legendary heroes and lovers. Growing up, I never knew what I wanted to be, except a hero.. if that even counts as an occupation. I knew that, but I couldn’t figure out how the hell one can be a hero in our modern world, thanks to all the f**ng safety regulations, law and order, sanitation, the disappointing lack of monsters. In Final Fantasy, all you have to do is pace and you can find a righteous fight, hew off an orcs arm. I mean only the lucky few get to occasionally exhibit heroism--Save someone from drowning or something… But shit, even then someone can sue you, even if you save their life. What a world. They wouldn’t let me in the army because of my severe asthma.. I gave up on trying to be a hero, succumbed to despair and drifted through a bunch of odd jobs, gas station clerk, bus boy, even a critter sitter… A critter sitter checks on the rabbits, gerbils, hamsters and guinea pigs of those who must leave them at home while vacationing or something. You refill their water bottles, replenish their food dish, et cetera. I know, not very heroic. For years I thought I would never have my chance to live out my dreams of high adventure, intrigue, romance.. I thought I would never be a Hero… Then one day… My life was changed forever…. The MMORPG, World of Ever War(working title) was released….. ....And so was I…
  2. Hey everyone! I need 1 partner who would be willinng to collaborate with me on a project that I am really excited about yet unable to have the time to do single-handedly. I prefer to keep the details of the story-line to myself, although anyone who is interested may private message me for details. I would love to develop every aspect of the game with an interested partner. Story: The premise is an offbeat, humorous story of a fictional MMORPG that was abandoned by its "god" leaving innocent players at the mercy of player killers, hackers and the like. The game is so realistic that all things are possible, and its a cut-throat world. A nerd who drifts from job to job in real life, lamenting the difficulty of being a hero in the modern world. He has a zealous sense of justice and no means of exacting it. When the fictional MMORPG is released, he sees his chance has come at last to become a hero. He has his most fervent wish granted, to be able to shift between the game world and the real world as his game character. He also gainst the ability to track down players of the game in real life. A hilarious interplay of fantasy and fact ensues. He eventually seeks to restore the balance in the game world, and track "God" (the creator of the MMORPG) down, demanding that he answer for his unjust abandonment of his world to the wolves. The story ultimately builds up to an allegory for our own world, addressing philosophical issues without ever losing the grasp of the humour of the story. Battle System: I am very proud of the battle system. I have made a battle system with about 20 classes and counting that will demand more than spamming attack. Strategy and planning will actually be necessary. Also, I have allowed chance to be a larger factor in my system than most games, as I feel that the element of luck hasn't been given adequate representation in RPGs. I will also be including elements of survival. You don't need to buy a disposable tent, but there is a chance you may be attacked at night! Having a druid in your party decreases the chance of ambush, and so on. I have a lot more details to offer, if anyone would like more information, please ask! If you would be interested in joining me, tell me a bit about yourself!! Hope to hear from you! Lance
