Updates and Staff positions

First of all, I would just like to comment that we reached 5000 posts today, and recently got to 5000 members. That's a nice achievement. Although the database shows 8702 posts and 746, but all the old staff know what this database has been through, if you look through the old announcement topics you will see what I mean. But lets keep this activity up.

 

I recently added a website, which is the base URL rmxp.trap17.com. This is actually a CMS but right now we are using it as a portal for the forums, but it could be used as a properly website in the future, depending on how things go. I would like to add a games section so visitors of the site can download games of the members here.

 

This month the Arcade and Casino have been reinstalled, and every component in the Menus have been restored since we upgraded. There has also been a "Bump" modification added to the forum. You will see it beside the "Options" at the top of your topics. According to the modification, you can only Bump every 24 hours, but I have not been able to test it properly. So there is no longer any need for anyone to reply with BUMP in their topics.

Staff positions have been available on the forum since it has been restored, I just don't think anyone has looked at the applications page yet: http://www.rmxpunlimited.net/forums/index....tocom=dstaffapp

 

They're not well described, so I'll describe them here.

For all Staff members, access to the staff discussion forums are available. This is where the staff members work as a team to make the forum better. Activity is a requirement for all staff members, but I shouldnt have to say that.

 

?Global Moderator

This group is second to the administrators, and can moderate all forums. They will basically keep things neat and tidy and under control. This group may not flame under any circumstances, as flaming is stopped simply by post maturely(I say this because I have seen it on other forums). Knowledge of RPG Maker XP is not essential, but preferred. The primary task of this group is order not support. But you have to know what topics are appropriate for what forums.

 

?RPG Maker Support Team

This group remains active primarily in the support forums. An in-depth knowledge of RPG Maker XP is required, as this group will be working to solve those topics. This group can moderate the support forums to move support topics into the resolved topics forum.

 

?Contest Manager

This group organizes contests. They make topics in the contests forum and keep them under control. So basically some entertainment for the forum, and a break from RPG Maker.

 

?Local Moderators

There is no application for this, to apply you must PM me. If you are exceptionally good at Scripting, Eventing, or creating resources, then you can apply to be local moderators for those forums.

 

 

Lastly, I would like to make a note about the Downloads Manager. The statistics have just started shooting up for downloads. Although there have been very few submissions. There are many Categories there for all sorts of RMXP downloads, so don't forget its there when you want to upload something.

Marked, could you restore my Eventing Teacher title please. Hopefully I will resume my lessons during Christmas or in the New Year.

If you're talking about your Member Title, I changed it to Eventing Teacher. But all members with 100+ posts can change it themselves in the control panel. You still have the Training Center permissions mask, so you should be able to view staff forums and moderate your own class. PM me if there's any further problems.

 

Congratulations to Wyzrd and Black Shadow on becoming Global Moderators. The applications will remain open until staff positions are full. We are looking for Teachers as well, but there is no application for it. Just send me a PM if anyone is interested in becoming a Teacher.

 

There is also a new section in the Gallery called "Workshops". I hope this Category will be used. I think only four people have actually submitted to the Gallery, two of them being admins. This Category is for Albums only. That means you can go and create your own little Categories in there, which a place for your graphics only. So members can come and see your work, and there is no problem with finding the authors of resources.

Hopefully this Category will be used.

You're probably right, but with only four members submitting images in the whole time we've had the Gallery, it's going to take a long time for that to happen. When it does things will change, and there will be restrictions. But for now, I would just like to get it used...

How do we make our own workshops? I don't see an option there to maker one

I checked your member group. I must have forgot to enable Albums on your group. Goto the Workshops Category again, and you should see a button called "New Album", click on that.

 

:) Okay I can see it now.
