Gameplay / Story

 

You begin the game as a soul traveling to a place named „The Fate Heartâ€. There you meet the Turamarth (Masters of Fate), which explain to you why they summoned you. The Turamarth want to retain the knowledge and the truth of the world, but they’re not able to leave the Fate Heart or meddle with the souls being. They observe the world from their seat and write and arrange the Fate of mortal and immortal ones. But during an event many centuries ago, a part of their knowledge was lost, since the mortal ones died and took the truth with them. The dead lost it or forgot their former being. The Turamarth cannot touch the soul and past of the deceased, so they sought after an alternative to find the truth still and summoned after you. They want to use the soul character to experience the fate of these mortal ones again for them.

 

(Your Soul character doesn’t remember any longer who or what it was before it died and it is not really a main character)

 
From this point the game starts for real. The Soul character has the choice between several Stories, which are seen by the points of view of different heroes and rogues. The player dives into a complex history, which bolts itself around an enormous lie, which leads far into the past and even into a far future.

During the first (only) option, one plays in the role of Shimar Roland, a knight of the realm Alternanz. Shimar is torn back and forth between freedom and obligation. He lives a pleasant, but unfulfilled live as one of the highest knights (the Ash Warriors) at the court of the kingdom. On a rainy summer day (during patrolling) Shimar meets Alvang penalty Bào – Léi – Àomì – Dòng – Èdú Venenca de Constantine (Yes, the name is genuinely long XD), a bounty hunter of the west seas, who calls himself Blade briefly and demands the knight to duel him (or more tries to kill him openly in a tavern after getting insulted).
After Shimar defeated him, let him live and took the boy into custody, a strange man came changed the knights plans. Blade supported Shimar in the fight against the infernal beast, which was aroused by the man from the burning corpse of a horse. He said good-bye with the words: „Niphred kyorlen dos l' elge d' nindol thac'zil... .“
Blade accepted his defeat. His first ever since he had begun fighting. He swears loyalty to Shimar and becomes his first companion. The two meet a further mark in their process on Niphred, the unknown mad man. He’s one prophet of the dark lord and tries to call the Dark Age again by the desecration of the divine temples. They meet him once more, where he openly destroys the temple of fire.
During a campaign against this mad prophet, the two become acquainted with the priest Griff Ondharac. The three fast become good friends. With the armed force of Alternanz and the Count Alliance from Graclebeth, their fleet traveled towards to Ceeviin (one of the Twin Islands that once build the continent of Cecillian), but were attacked by the legendary degenerate one of the seas, Mjörnil the water dragon. A beast as old as the seas of Sandrés itself (the world). After they had said good-bye of the victims, the mission to capture Niphred was continued. On Caavuun (the other Island) a part of the army came to into a massacre for Blade was hold responsible. The mission is finally broken off and Blade condemned to death. Shimar and Griff decide to work against it, after the true killer provoked a bloodbath in the fortress of Alternanz. They decide to put medals, aristocracy and title down forever and hunt Niphred on their own.

The three go together chasing after the mad Niphred on an exciting journey around the truth behind the old legend and the appearance of the prophet. On their adventures they meet many interesting, funny and deeply inspired comrades, character and enemies. There is no senseless and overloaded NPC's as well as a variety of Quests and Stories to collect, which throw light on an age-old mystery, as well as many different possibilities to earn money and experience.



Character-Information

As already mentioned there are many interesting character to discover in our story.

Shimar Roland
Shimar Roland is a 28-year old knight of the realm Alternanz. He is a creditor of the fire. His God is Paragan, master of all flames.
Shimar is a spited person. His grandfather (on the maternal side) was an adventure, who often told of the many miracles of Sandrés. His family however was already knights at the court for many years and like him to do as his father. Shimar desired to become more like his grandfather and go on travels, being able to discover the world to, but he was also imposed very to the obligation of his family. Thus he whined often internally to his dream during his duties. After he met Blade his adventurer instinct continued to grow. Shimar is a friendly, forestalling person, who rarely loses his calm around others. He worries in a well-meaning manner about everyone, which travel at his side. He’s a thoroughly protector. Shimar can sometimes be very rigid, if it concerns merchant language and sarcasm. (His reactions to common words of the merchant language will surely spell many smiles on peoples the lips :3)

Blade
Alvang Malus Bào – Léi – Àomì – Dòng – Èdú Venenca de Constantine is a 16-year old bounty hunter from the west sea. He states himself to be the best one from all and only few spoke against it. Blade, as he prefers to be called, hates it to indulge in the past (except they’re war stories of genuine fighters). To fathom his background story will be an adventure for itself. He is very temperamental and stubborn, but loyal towards his friends. His rough nature comes from the fact of barbarian blood, which he carries. (One wouldn’t guess by his looks XD) He hates to be measured by his size or his age. By the fact that he’s a weapon master and a scholar of the art „Black Emporium“, that is probably understandable. Blade loves wine, fighting and to tell of his achievements as bounty hunter. He hates Paladins, holy or religious babbling, stories without end and truth, distance combat weapons and bad ale. The only thing he fears is the anger of his guild master, when he has a bad day. XD Oh!

Nearly forgot. He does not have a God, because he hates them too XD

Griff Ondharac
Griff lived his whole life long in a house of God. He serves the goddess of the water, Sephia. Griff is a friendly, more gallant young man at the age of 19 years. His strength is the remedial art. He meets Shimar and Blade during the hunt for Niphred.

Griff is one of the few characters, who despises even in times of war the greed for power and stays clean of it. He tries to finish many situations without resorting to fight and bloodshed. As a priest of the Sephia, Griff is obliged to protect the sea and the waters against every kind of disgrace. He takes his duties very serious. He’s also not very familiar with the common tongue and due to his religious background he often argues with Blade.

Griff most of all would help each human in the world, even those who would possibly want to roast him on a pike.

Luos Noddegamra
who is seeing it? XD

Luos is well-known in the world of Sandrés as „Elminster “. Elminster in the language of Sandrés means - corrupt spirit. Legends of his cruelty are far spread over both large oceans (west and east). He loves to torture, torments and to kill humans for senseless, experimental things. His malice exceeds even those of the Seth (Seth is the third son of the darkness and hunter of the blighted. He tears the sinners from their bodies and hunts them like worthless cattle from the emptiness to the gates of death).

But in reality!!

Luos is an extremely absent-minded Magus. His power is almost unrivaled amongst the mortal people. But he has a 'small' image problem. And has a large problem with his personality. Luos experimented to understand the bounds between the living and the dead (causing for major problems in the world and all people to hate him) He lost a part of his memory and also a part of his healthy mind due to some failed in his past experiments.
He changes emotional thought processes frequently. That shows some funny as well as frightening Dialogue changes in the group. His hobby is to breed enormous cockroaches, so that the zombies in his cellar won’t invade the kitchen XD

BloodySoul

His divine name is well-known only to the other six Gods of Sandrés and his flesh-born children. Mankind calls him ‘BloodySoul’ and the elves call him ‘Sereg Ûr’.

BloodySoul set in motion a war thousands of years ago, to usurp the throne of his father and creator. But he failed. According to the legend, which is sung now in the churches and monasteries ever since, BloodySoul was destroyed by his creator and father. But after Niphred emerged, everything seemed to break apart.

BloodySoul is known the world as lord of the darkness and father of all bad omens, emotions and thoughts. His children spread suffering, pain and decay over each angle of the world. Allegedly he was firstborn of all divine ones. Create from the blind eye of his father. BloodySoul used his dark powers to restrain the darkness and emptiness around. Thus he created a free area around the universe, where Sandrés and all things came to be built.

Some of the creatures that rose from his hands are devils, demons, Orks, shape shifter, Lycanthropes, half monstrosities, Illithide (Mind Enslavers), phantoms, night and dark elves as well as the all feared Nurmakylh.

Nurmakylh und Nirma Nurmakylh
Nirma Nurmakylh and the Nurmakylh are creatures of the emptiness. Their bodies form themselves after demands (like honor, fear, hatred, etc.), once important to them in the life and therefore feed them in death. They are phantoms. Empty existence, whose names and fates remained blank. No one knows how they came to be, but some stated that The Nurmakylh was the reason for their increased occurrence. With which the inhabitants of Sandrés aren’t wrong completely.

The Nurmakylh was once humans. A man once born admits the Valkyries. They rejected him due to his gender, as they had cut him from the belly of his deceased mother and threw him in the valley of the mortals. He survived and was raised among them. Madness grew inside the man, who had no name or purpose and overpowered him in the long run.

He hunted and murdered in the search for the star under which he would find his name. When he attacked and injured the two divine Anubis and Michael on his travels, BloodySoul appeared before him. He wanted from him to get the star shown, which was meant for him, but BloodySoul tore the soul from the bones in his anger over his attempted murder and closed both body and spirit into the emptiness. He closed the scar in space with the blood of the mad man.

The man however had not given up yet. He wanted to escape from the emptiness and began to dig with his hands in the nothingness. Completely out of control his hate and his greed for blood and vengeance grew. In the long run the impossible happened. He scratched a hole in the emptiness and the blood poured therein. He drank it and noticed that it was his own. From the madness overpowered the soul changed and merged with the emptiness and the zone from which his blood was poured.

From this the first Nurmakylh was born. It freed itself and returned to the mortal world as a terror formed of black clouds. Ravens had formed its meat and screeched across the land. Like a plague the Nurmakylh sowed horror over the country and provoked the darkness almost openly to fight it. BloodySoul accepted the duel. It took a whole two hundred years before he succeeded to bind the Nurmakylh under a spell to his word, his voice and his will.



Game Mechanics & Scripts

The game mechanics are as with typical role performances (Final Fantasy, Terranigma, Lufia). A character is selected and its story is done after the already existing novel version. It has a round-based system, whereby we could not agree on Final Fantasy/Summon Nights Twin Age (full body characters seen), Etrian Odyssey Style (would be standart RPG VX battle view) or Phantasy Star IV (where you see the selected character doing the battling action after it was chosen). Monsters are moved by easy animations (best example which us occurs is „Shin Megami Tensei – Strange Journey “ and “Phantasy Star IVâ€). We use many Scripts, like the intelligent Enemies and the Show Playttime Script.

Special Features and Stuff

Within the game many interesting features exist. A forging/alchemist system, a mission system that supplies you with interesting radiant Sidequests, 20 story Lines that take part in three different Pasts, a future and the present game time. Distorted mysteries (you have a tower with 99 floors to expect!), Voice Acting, animations / Flash Movies and story Pictures provided by us. Very interesting people even among the Non players, (We try to use (if possible) few double portraits of NPC's). A gigantic map of the world, which one however enters only with ship and „aircraft “as in Secret of Mana and Secret of Evermore. No repetitive maps! Each place is arranged and worked on by us. Light effects (day, night, darkness, etc.) are also introduced to the play thanks to Parallex. Our Game is to obtain an atmosphere of affiliation.
There are new unprecedented monsters, races and places to discover. „The road of the Dreamers “, „The Land of Emptiness “, „The Nurmakylh “, „The Tarantellianer “(Spider people) and more. Fight against enormous beasts such as “Asthral Fire – King of Sandwormsâ€, “Mjörnil – the Terror of the Seaâ€, “The Hunger†and “The King of the Elvesâ€!

Have battles as epic, powerful and rewarding as can be. You will face strong adversaries along the journey that will be hard to beat, but give you many victories to be proud of. We even want to include some Easter Eggs in the game, so that you have fun exploring the world.
