Change Button Functions

Question

Okay, so I haven't seen this on any other forums but I'm having trouble with my controls.

It infuriates me that one button is accept and interact, another is menu and cancel, and a last button is sprint.

If anyone could tell how to make my buttons be

  • One button for accepting and interacting
  • One button for cancel and sprint
  • One button for menu

That's all I ask for haha. And, if possible, another button for a pause/map screen.

If anyone can post a suggestion or answer, or even a link to a script or topic that has an answer, that would be swell. I would be happy to credit you in my upcoming game: The Mantra of Light.

You can change the controls by hitting F1 while the game is running. Other than that im not really sure where to change the controls as im not that great at RGSS3 yet.

Thanks Polraudio, but I simply want to change the functions of the controls completely, if possible that is :oops:

Yes it is, you should change each and every command which looks like:

Input.trigger?(Input::C)

with the button of your choice. You might find that it takes a lot of time and energy for just a small benefit (especially considering you have to make the changes in every custom scripts you add as well), but that's the only way to go.

Looks like ace does it a little different

Input.trigger?(:C)

Just search for

Input.trigger?

and you should find some of the options. I dont see any for sprint. It should be easy to edit most of it. anything other changing what is already there i will have no clue on as i havent done much of RGSS3 cause it confuses me most of the time.
