I saw the comments about Eddie being GDU, but I thought there was more to it. Which gives me more of a reason to vote for GDU as it makes sense.

I don't understand how this is at all confusing. Perhaps if one doesn't understand the sociological and psychological ramifications of the name Eddie...but even that is more obvious that what gdu stands for.

Don't understand what exactly, all I got out of that thread I read was that this guy was a bot asking for something and Marked used his ID for something else. Not much else to it, if there is then maybe you guys are thinking to much into such a simple matter. All I know is that Marked said this is mostly a joke so I'm just taking as one. I'm mostly likely missing the joke here but, as far as I can see Eddie is a Bot, and GDU is the actual site. Not much else to think about.

@politics: its not because yanks are stupid that they vote the way they do. Its really up to the people its up to who the corporations want to put money behind. Then they demonize the other guy. The amount of power ur president has is undemocratic and inefficient to begin with.

@Marked: Our government went way undemocratic and inefficient since Ronald Reagan was president. Are government has too many lazy citizens and too many greedy/ corrupt politicians for anything to work the way it is supposed to. However, this is way to much of topic, and I don't really like talking about the clowns in our government.

You give Obama to much credit, sure he isn't a figurehead and has some executive power but he still has to deal with bureaucratic red tape and partisan differences, which ofc shut the government down last year. Rather its the unregulated 1%, specifically the banks that the government has allowed to be to big to fail. I'm all for lazzefaire but citizens should be protected from the tyranny of big spenders.

 

Ironically, the US is designed in a way that at its optimum bipartisaness, where power isn't centralized by party is when its at its least effectiveness. Essentially, the sign that our democracy is working to decentralize power, makes it really hard to get anything done. Which is why we should focus on reducing greenhouse gases and alternate energy solutions.

 

Also the standard of living in US makes people lazy so as the saying goes, "Peace has made you weak, Victory has defeated you!"

 

Also if you watched the state of the Union, the US is technically in a better position then it was 3 decades ago specifically with reliance on foreign oil, education, alternative energy source, and emission cuts on greenhouse gasses. Also the deficit is finally going down.
