Perhaps I am missing something simple, but the navigation will not displayed center to the background image.

I bet you didn't use

. And also common mistake, always set your a tags to display:inline-block and apply height, line-height, margin or padding depending on your style (if there's text). The li tags should largely be left untouched except to remove their list style and sort their orientation. Their height should be automatically generated based on the height of the a tags.

 

Of course none of this really applies if you're using images and no text, lol. Which isn't the best idea for CEO purposes, nor wholly necessary or good practice.
