Bigace360 38 Report post Posted September 8, 2014 Don't know if anyone noticed this already, and I just found out recently (like 2 weeks ago), but RPGRevolution has closed down. It now just redirects you to this "ActivePro" site. https://www.facebook.com/rpgrevolution
zahraa 26 Report post Posted September 8, 2014 I didn't have an account on that site but I checked it a few times. It's not good to see a RM related site is down D: angels take 'em to heaven :/
Marked 197 Report post Posted September 9, 2014 Wow. Who disables Javascript. This is a pretty big shock. I guess not so much because of the state of the game these days. Rpg revolution was a giant, but tbh im suprised it lasted this long since entertains own forums. I duno the circumstances but dick move shutting it down n not allowing ppl the chance to take their stuff. Rm sites these days pretty much run on sentiment alone. That's surely why this site survived. There really isn't room for more than 2 big sites... unless they're niche sites... and we did the opposite by expanding, lol. Bigace360 38 Report post Posted September 9, 2014 True, there is a ton of tutorials on there that could of been archived here, if I had known in advance preserve them before this shit went down. Oh well, let's keep on moving forward, so we don't end up like them.
black mage 28 Report post Posted September 9, 2014 I'm still remember that it dead around early June. I think it just some mistake that the owner forgot to pay for the domain or something like that. It was my first RPG maker community that I know, I think.
FranklinX 37 Report post Posted January 9, 2015 Wow! I just now found out about this. I'm not sad one bit. Their content policy really hurt the site and it never recovered from it. I was banned for removing my content from the site.
Marked 197 Report post Posted January 9, 2015 It's interesting how they say it wasn't active in last year of life (saw this on another site just now). It was a massive site around our own boom time. I didn't really keep track, but it's interesting to see how these huge sites can fall over so quickly.
rgangsta 43 Report post Posted January 9, 2015 Even though that was the first site I ever went to when I got VX, I still kinda disliked it. It made me feel uneasy sometimes. And if you posted your game project, it was near impossible to get it noticed.
Marked 197 Report post Posted January 9, 2015 I was browsing it yesterday on web archive. It's a strange feeling to think... 100k members and 400k posts, so many people and such an active place but now it's just a memory (...unless you go to web archive...). That's what I like about websites. All it takes is one click to turn a website off, but places like GDU provide a unique experience that you can only get here. ShinkuAura 15 Report post Posted January 10, 2015 This community may not be the most active of them all. But we're all here interacting with everyone. I never wanted to join RPG REVOLUTION. I don't know why. I felt right at home with this site. which was called RMXP Unlimited.
GermanyXItaly1000 16 Report post Posted January 13, 2015 I remember visiting that site at my early times in using RMXP. I never got a feel for it, and I didn't like it so much as I liked Chaos Project or other sites, but some things were helpful for my learning the engine. So I have memories of it stashed away in a place of my sentiments reserved just for RPG Maker things. Not good to see a site like that go. Even if I never made an account for it or anything. At least we still have GDU--which is, needless to say, my favourite.
