Legends Awake

 

 

Prologue:

 

Nearly a century ago marked the beginning of the longest war ever waged on

planet Esgard. The totalitarian nation of Isdor, seeking to further their

militaristic rule to the lands of the West and South, armed battalion upon

battalion of troops and set forth to conquer the small nations of the

Northern continent. In an attempt to hinder the progression of the

Isdorian Empire, the great nations of the West, Fendor and Vermise,

declared war on the Northern continent, their armies already having

reached the Northern shores. They were met with fierce retaliation,

however, and were forced to retreat back to the West, the militant

Isdorians trailing behind.

 

In a desperate attempt to defeat the Northern Empire and preserve the

Western continent, Fendor and Vermise sought out the aid of the mighty

Agron Federation of the fiery South. With their help, the Western nations

were able to push back the unrelenting Isdorian military. Many years

passed. Isdor remained dormant, but anger and greed were still brewing in

the North. A surprise attack on the West, years after the Agron

Federation returned to the South, led to the fall of the Western

continent. Fendor and Vermise were no match for the new destructive powers

of Isdor. What was this new divine force that amplified the power of the

North? And how did it overcome two of the most virile nations on the

planet?

 

87 years have passed since the war began. The Agron Federation now rests

on the cusp of war, waiting for the inevitable attack by the Isdorian

Empire. With trade at a standstill and the economy in shambles, the volcanic City of

Agros has grown weak and impoverished. Amongst the chaos of the impending

worldwide battle, one man sets out on a journey to reunite a young woman

with her family in the West, but stumbles upon the shocking truth behind

the strength of the great nations ? a secret that may be able to restore

balance to the planet of Esgard and uncover his inner personal demons.

Playable Characters: (will be available in the demo once it is complete)

 

Fin Eddle, Pocket Thief - An orphaned man in his mid 20's, known for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Ever since he can remember he has lived in Agros, but with no family around, there is speculation to his true nation of origin. Unable to sustain a job due to his constant trouble with the Agron Army, he makes a living by pick-pocketting.

 

Nobi Misari, Vicar - A young girl in her early 20's. A member of the Iras Sanctus, one of the more archaic religions of Esgard, Nobi yearns to return to Fendor. She was separated from her family as a child, sent to Agros after the first wave of Isdorian attacks for protection.

 

Saiyre Darnyll, Army General - Saiyre is a strong willed and ferocious individual, though she very much has a heart of gold. A citizen of Agros for her entire life, she strives to fill the shoes of her father, a great colonel who lead the Agron army to countless victories in the West. Serving in the army for over 20 years, General Darnyll struggles to balance her personal victories with the onslaught of anti-female sentiments among the soldiers.

Lile Harpur, Guardian - Lile is the head of operations in the Collodoron Academy of Technology. Known for their advancement in technology, the people of Collodor strive to strengthen the Federation. Though content with his current position as head of operations in the leading university for the technological arts, Lile has refrained from acting on his military duties. His position is currently under investigation by the King of Collodor.

 

Fryett Peche, Conjurer - An ex-member of the Iras Sanctus, Fryett was banned from practicing this religion due to his meddling in dark margic. Once the high apprentice of the Voodus, a Priest of the Iras Sanctus, and military consultant to the King of Densch, Fryett is now a streetside magician and conjurur in the dark arts. He's looking for a way to reach Illbadess, the holy city, to prove his theories about the secret power of Isdor true.

 

Verna Trobiss, Spearman - Verna is a citizen of Rhodaire, a neutral nation situated a few hundred miles off the coast of the southern continent. She has been stranded in Agros ever since her ship from Rhodaire was sunk. Now in her late 20's, Verna resides in Collodor, waiting for another ship to be built so she can return home.

 

Dorian Wren, Arbalest - Dorian is a headstrong, stubborn, heroic individual. Currently living in Rhodaire, Dorian is attempting to single-handedly bring down the Isdorian army without the aid of any wayward vagabonds. Determined to use his high status as a sharpshooting celebrity to bring justice to his people, the citizens of Vermise.

 

 

World Map:

 

This story takes place on planet Esgard.The world map presents itself in the form of three main continents, each with multiple armed nations. The northern continent is the largest, known for its particularly harsh weather and rugged terrain. The western continent is heavily populated. it's the most scenic of all the continents, offering some of the hottest vacation spots. Lastly, there is the southern continent, a landmass formed literally by the eruption of multiple volcanos thousands of years ago. The soil is lifeless and the days are long. It is home to the industrial nations of Planet Esgard. There are also many other smaller landmasses and islands and whatnot.

 

At the beginning of the game, the northern continent is completely under Isdorian control. After the fall of Fendor and Vermise, the other smaller nations of the west slowly surrendered to the power of the north. Though still a beautiful continent, the west is slowly but surely being taken over by the north. The Agros Federation, or the four nations making up the southern continent, are being starved out by the Isdorians. All contact and travel between the other lands has been ceased, Agros isolated from their allies.

 

Battle System:

 

The battle system is a standard turn based system. Characters learn special skills periodically by gaining experience. They also learn magic by equipping certain items found to their individual *bleeps* (censored, because if it wasn't, it would ruin the plot). They also have two distinct slots available for "artifacts," or special items that increase stats during battle or protect from certain magic. Certain skills require different tactics and methods of approach, special to each individual character.

From what I can see, it meets all the requirements...according to the rules a screenshot isn't required, but is preferred. So, it looks like your good to go with this.

Hey all!...

 

okay, so sorry to bump this, but I wanted to let you all know about the update! YAY!!! I bet everyone thought I forgot :P. Anyway, it isn't much, but in the first post I've added some screenshots of the first few maps. There are a TON more, but you'll have to wait for a demo to see those :P. I'm actually almost done with my mapping for the demo, so I should probably have a demo out by March (hah, I hope!).

So, first off, hey everyone :P. I know I kinda peaced out, it was really dumb of me. I was just really, really busy with school.

 

 

anyway, now that finals are (almost) over, I really want to start up this project again, and hopefully be done with the demo this summer. I've added some new screenshots and I might post the songs on here in a bit as well (it's a great soundtrack ;)).

 

However, I am in need of some BASIC tutorial stuff. I can't even make a cut scene. I'm horrible. And my maps kinda suck too, lol. So, I'd love any recommendation for a great beginner tutorial that goes over literally everything.

Thanks Maph, lol. I guess I just need some help with all the technical stuff. Even looking at the tutorials here are confusing. Now that school is over, I really want to spend some time working on my game. About 95% of my mapping for the demo is complete, but after that I'm completely lost :(
