Looking for prison tileset?

Recommended Posts

I honestly dont know if im posting this in the right section but whatever.
So I have a new idea for a game im really interested in doing! But I need a prison tileset. Like underground. so rusty bars and the prison walkways. I need it to look like an old prison, not shiny and stuff! Thanks

I did some googling, but I didn't find any rusty bars.

I haven't looked at RMXP default tilesets in a while (I'm using some custom ones) but I think you're going to have to combine tilesets for this one. RMXP has some cave tilesets that sort of look "underground".  You can take some prison doors from RMXP and toy around with them in your editing program--like Photoshop, if you have it. Mess around with colours, contrast, saturation. The bars as they are don't look to bad to me, though. Then again, that might be because I just don't use them.

Also, fogs and screen colour tone. A little use of fog can make things interesting. Likewise you can change the colour of the screen tone, darken things a little.... Not sure what you mean by walkways, but if you're looking for some sort of cement tile or something like that, just edit in in from another tileset.

Are you trying for a more modern prison or something? Like in "Richard and Alice"?

Oh, by walkways, i mean catwalks. As if theres multiple floors to the prison. Thanks man, Ill check these out in the future because I'm still immersed in my current game, even though im stuck on how to make an animation of my character falling. :annoyed:

Catwalks? I think I might have something like that. You mean this?

It has railings and stairs, with some of what I think are floor tiles(?). You could easily make something out of that.

And as for falling, I'm not sure if this helps, but I was able to make my characters fall by editing some sprite poses. I'll link you to an unlisted video that shows how it looks in my game (don't share this vid outside GDU)... quality is worse than bad for this vid, forgive me for that:

It looks too "in-sync", what with them falling at the same time, but I'm going to finish eventing for the first portion of the game before I change that. In actuality, the one in the black suit should be falling down first. But like I said, rough eventing, will polish later.

Is that what you're aiming for? Or are you trying to make your character fall, say, through a hole in the floor or something?

I think I can show you how to do what you're trying to do, but it depends on the situation you're presenting.

Ah yes the catwalk would work and that animation of the falling would work! I presume the animations are the same so yes! And no not through a hole, what you have there would be perfect by the looks of it, Ill just have to reposition my characters a bit.

I'm working on uploading some sort of tutorial right now, since I saw your quote.

Not sure how good of a tutorial maker I am, but whatever it is, I'm going to try and make it understandable. Should be up soon, in a few hours, since I've been working on it for about an hour now.

Nice niceee, thank you man! I do some tutorials, not for rmxp though. Just start from scratch making a 4 frame animation and show how to import it and use it. Explain anything
