The Collector[Unity]

Some of you may or may not know that i made a game back in the day called The Collector for RMXP.

 

The collector is about collecting objects in the given time. Once the time runs out you lose, and if you collect all the objects before the time runs out you win that level.

 

As of right now there are only 2 levels because this is the Dev version so all the features are not complete yet. NOTE: The levels may look a little nooby, thats because they are just testing levels to help me get the mechanics of the game down.

 

Please try it out and let me know what you think of it so far.

Note: Game fully works with the xbox360 controller or any controller that uses xinput if you wish to use that instead of keyboard and mouse. You are not forced to use the controller in any way. Some controls are not listed for the controller ingame yet as its a very new feature. I will list the controls below. Starting with Xbox/PS

 

Start Level:

A/X = Start Level

 

Winner Screen:

A/X = Next Level

X/Square = Restart Level

 

Loser Screen:

A/X = Restart Level

I like this game. The second level is pretty challenging. Still trying to beat it.  I can play with a gamepad/joystick right because the keyboard is screwing me over on these sharp corners. :/

Just a suggestion but I bet you already thought of this but you should make combos. Like collecting two or more cubes adds more time or points.

 

Oh, for everyone else who plays, post your fastest time on each level! :D

The whole object of the game is to collect objects in a given time so adding time might not be good to do in easy levels. i could make it so objects give you extra time in more complex levels. Right now im aiming to get the levels times near perfect with 1-3sec extra for normal mode, for hard mode you will have to get within 1sec of a perfect.

Easy mode will allow you to retry the level if you fail, normal mode will not allow you to retry a level and will send you back all the way to level 1 when you fail, and hardmode will require a perfect to complete it and will send you back to level 1 if you fail.

 

As for the score, the more time you have the more points you get per object. if you have 10sec when you collect an object you will get 10 points and if you have 5sec left you will get 5 points. If the timer is above 1min you will get 60 points till the timer gets to 59sec. once at 59sec the points will = the amount of seconds left.

 

I have plans for more complex levels like finding switches to open doors, maybe slippery floors and puzzles. For the far future i may make it so when you collect objects you get to keep those objects and they go in your inventory when you win. You could use those objects to unlock stuff like skins, different music, sound effects, special levels, etc..

 

EDIT: as for bobs idea i might add that later.
