Noob Saibot 38 Report post Posted November 19, 2015 Purpose of Thread/Topic: Simply put it will allow hobby game developers to keep tabs on the development of the Game Developer Archive database & website as well as listen to feedback where needed. What is GD Archive?: The GDA is going to be a website informing hobby & professional developers about new software that is being released, been released, etc. The database will contain every known game making software with basic information such as: name, developer name, price, OS compatibility, & a link to a review section where users (members) will be able to write their own review for said software. Clicking on a "developer" name in the database will take you to the developer review section will users can also review the companies or individuals who made said software. An "Archived Database" will contain a database of of forgotten, broken, & unfinished software. The archived database will not have a review section, but a page with info on what it was planned to be & a comments section will be available. The "Community Database" will provide a database of most if not all known sites & forums that offer support for said software (users will also be able to review said sites as well on GDArchive. What will Make up GDA?: Joomla 3.4, DataTables, ARI Data Tables (Joomla Extension), & phpBB (our community forum). What will the community forum Be used for?: GDA will not offer support for any game development software (hence the "Support Community Database"). The forum will be used for creators to post about their games, their own software, as well as submit their software or community to our database.Basic Sample of Software Database: *NOTE: Software will be searchable by name, OS, price, developer, & hidden tags (e.g. RPG, Platform, etc.).
