Marked 197 Report post Posted November 29, 2015 The first iteration of the games section didn't even have an admin section - you could change all your content directly on the front-end as the author. But it was too slow and a bit too clunky. Now, there is an admin section which automatically saves your entries each time you click away from the field you were editing. I've come across a few systems with this. And I hate it. I always look around for the save button and wonder - how the heck do I save it? I'm wondering if you guys agree. What I'd like to do is have a save button fixed the browser at the bottom (so it's always there). And when you want to update, you hit save. Added a poll :)
Polraudio 122 Report post Posted November 29, 2015 YES! I feel the same way when using auto save. I always wonder if its saved, when the last save was, was my internet shit and it didnt save what i just did if my internet was shit and how the hell do i manually save if i want. Sometimes i make lots of changes that i later realize i dont want to keep and i have no choice because of the auto save. I think a manual save would be good. Kitsuki 17 Report post Posted December 2, 2015 I only recently realised (about a couple weeks ago?) that you could save by clicking anywhere on the page after you edit. I personally got attached to that way of saving after a while of doing it, but young me would've probably appreciated a manual save button.
Marked 197 Report post Posted December 4, 2015 That was passive aggressive :) But anyway, ya, it's going. It took years to figure out how it works, so clearly it needs to go -
black mage 28 Report post Posted December 4, 2015 Was the vote still in? I prefer to manually click a button to save. The reason is that when you mess something up like entirely crash your page (I'm exaggerating), you can just reload the page and it have it back to it's original state. Now look if there's autosave enabled. I'd wonder what the heck I should do to return the broken pages into it's correct state. Problem like this occurs on several website that allow autosave and some advance writing and coding, and have no undo. Though I'm not sure that our game section would be that bizarre, it'll be handy when the time comes. :)
