Ekanselttar 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2016 (edited) Hey everyone,It's Ekanselttar. I've been thinking to resurrect a dead game project that looked very interesting to me.Am I allowed to do that? I did get permission from the original project lead, (which I found in another forum) and he announced that he lost interest in it. By GDU's rules, could I resurrect that project and continue work on it? Thanks. ps : It's called Tenebris,by Ultim1337Gamer,I asked for his permission in rmn. i've already started dev unless the admin or mods say otherwise. I'll create a game page soon enough. Polraudio 122 Report post Posted February 4, 2016 Its not up to us as we don't own any rights to anyone's games. Its 100% up to the author of that game to give you permission. You will have to ask him about it. This applies for any site on the internet.
EmilyAnnCoons 7 Report post Posted February 5, 2016 I think maybe he's curious about taking over things like the topic and stuff, thus bumping it and reviving the project. At least that's my guess anyway. If not, then yeah, like pol said, if the original author gave you permission, then you have permission to do it.
Ardaceus 21 Report post Posted February 5, 2016 Please I wanted to try Tenebris. And I really don't see any problem with continuing a project as long as you have permission. I think that's happened a few times on this site already.
Marked 197 Report post Posted February 5, 2016 You have permission on GDU to do that. It would be good for you to give attribution to the original author to avoid confusion of those who know of the project, although as Pol said, what you have to do is limited only by the original author. It would be unusual not to note some form of credit somewhere. Funny fact. One of the listed writers for the movie World War Z was an author of a book by the same title. The movie people only wanted the name of the book... the book's content is actually completely different. So although his contribution was only the title of the movie, he was listed as a writer.
