help with door glitch

Question

I got my door to work, but I want it to require a key. However, when I try to add a conditional branch, the "open" graphic activates whether the player has the key or not. Note it does NOT allow you to pass through and give "door open" message unless the key is possessed. Just the graphic changes.

Any suggestions? I've tried using a loacal switch and regular switch, and neither can control the graphic

P.S. using rpg maker xp

Well, I reproduced your event, and it's functioning just fine for me. So that's not the problem.

Check other events, they're may be some conflict going on in the map.

For example, maybe you set one door to change the graphic of this particular door by accident.

It happens sometimes.

CCOA at RPG Revolution boards found it for me,

Door Glitch Help:

Tick direction fix on the event page. Then turn direction fix first thing in the Move Route that opens the door.
