I thought I suggest it, because I notice in our profiles, there is a "recent wiki edits" section.

I don't think it'd be too bad of a thing, kind of keep a history on us. Everything from members to forum threads.

lol, well, now that I know it's there.

I'm gonna start writing articles on it, from members to special forum threads.

So keep a sharp eye chaps, you might be on there.

So sorry for the double post, but I'm requesting anyone and everyone who is on the wiki, or wants to be, to submit any type of information to me if.. With it, I could make a better and more accurate information database. Also, if you would, submit a quote you made up yourself, or what you believe in, or anything like that. Thank you. =)

I honestly do not think that a good idea. That would mean anyone wondering onto the forums could change anything in the Wiki. Putting stuff that isn't true and so forth.

yeah,

then it would be like a REAL wikipedia, which people change all the time :P. I think submitting stuff to Ark, though, would be a good idea, and he can change it. Feel free to write about me and my composing, Ark! :)

You could also make it where only members can change their own information if its possible.

Have you tried editing articles? You should be able to. All members should.

Thats true. Although for the moment I would like to keep it as it is. If these problems do come up, then we can change the permissions. If something like this does happen(Or in the case of members deleting articles) the information is easily retrievable from the Database.

Ark, you should write one on Noob Saibot. I think he was definitely a significant member. And I don't really have a quote...sorry.

Also, do you mind if I do some? I have some members who definitely need a mention, but didn't exactly make it to the forum(we had two), so you probably don't know them at all. They are the guys who got this forum here.

Hey guys, sorry I havn't been on the forum, between the down time on the forums and my computer messing up, I havn't been able to write any articles, nut I did plan on writing one on Noob Saibot and many other members, and I still do. I'm hoping my computer will be fixed either today or tomorrow at the lastest.

I'm a little heistant only allowing other people write in the wiki, but that's not my call. I'm not trying to be a power hungry asshole, I just want all the articles to be consistant. palraudio, the reason you can't edit the wiki is because I set up the categories specifically so that newbies would not have permissions to modify, or create any articles. I did this to eliminate some concerns that people have mentioned before me.

Of course Marked, as the forum administrator, your more than welcome to make any articles you like. It's your forum, your rules, correct? =)

If it's decided that the wiki be open for public edits and creation, all I ask for members is to please be consistent with the articles already there, and type in a clean, literate, professional fasion.

I see what you mean. I don't know how many members are going to want to use the Wiki.

Do you want the Wiki not to open to the public? I would not have a problem with this as you are going for a high standard with articles.

An alternative is setup some rules for the Wiki. Members can see the high standard they're at, and have to make the articles consistent, as you say. Another is approval of Wiki edits. All edits have to be approved, and specific usergroups can approve edits. You can also revert any edits made, and see who edited what article. Example: http://www.rmxpunlimited.net/forums/index....istory&id=5

Our Forum.

I also got around to adding the Wiki in the Menu.

For the wiki to be public, I feel uncomfortable making that decision, without the opinions of other members.

Perhaps we should make a poll, either I write the wiki, it's open to the public, or it's open to the public with my approval?

I voted that it be open to the public with Ark's approval. That way we could submit stuff but then at the same time if it's not quite up to his standards he could edit it so it is, or he could ask that member to re-do it.

I think I'm gonna write one on Blazinks and Ravenclaw and perhaps the history behind RMXP Unlimited. With your approval Ark. I'll write them super good though.

The Wiki is set up like this:

Arkbennet is the only member who can create, delete, edit new Categories. That means if a member wants to write an article, it has to be in a pre-existing category.

All articles and edits require approval from Arkbennet.

If there are any problems I need to know about them, because I have my own permission group, I don't see what other members do, so if there's any issues, please tell me about them.

Goto the article and click "approve article"

approveih0.jpg

I approved that new article to see how it's done. I won't usually do that though, dont worry. I'm sure its okay if I approve the approvers article though. :D

By the way, do you the categories show 0 articles or is that just me?

See, that's the thing. When I went to the article to approve it, it said it didn't exist, or something like that.

And yeah, it does the same for me too.

lol, nothing ever goes right here, does it? =)

Ah I'll try fix that. See if you have the same problem with the next article.

The result of almost 2 years work. Brilliant.

I started on the history of RMXP Unlimited. I'm not finished yet though, not by a long way. I posted it in the "Forums" Category, but it will need to be moved to an appropriate Category when its done.
