The screenies at the first link don't exactly fill me with motivation. 

 

"Coming in 2018: the Action Game Maker that allows you to make games from the 90's!". 

 

Of course, that could be fixed with some nice graphics. Ripping sprites from a sweet as cheese game like jazz jack rabbit 2 would work a treat. I love those styles.
