Lights at Night

Question

hey friends,

So I know there is a topic about how to make your screen look like it's night time. But, I want to make it so that the lamps hanging on the walls of my building light up, and create an ambient sort of light. I know it can be done, I've seen it before, I just have no idea how to do it. Any clues? I'm guessing its some sort of special event, and considering I just learned how to use fog yesterday (hah..), I wouldn't know where to look.

Thanks!

~Joe

I never done it but i think you need to edit the tilesets and add some light to some tiles to make it look like lights are above it or around it

I'm not sure how to do it easier. But actually I don't think you have to edit the tileset. I think it involves events and variables or something like that.

Fogs + Screen Tone = Lighting effect.

Be sure to credit the awesome Fooflex.

Eh, there are better ways to do it then that, I just know it....

that one requires you to use photoshop or an equivalent program to manipulate it, but there are ways to do it otherwise that require a lot less work. Besides, I don't have a photo-manipulation program. But, thanks for that link!

here is an example of what I want. I don't think it was done in the same way as Fooflex's....but I could be wrong....
