I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF IT IS AGAINST THE LAW TO SELL A GAME USING RPG MAKER XP IF IN FACT EVERYTHING FROM TILESETS TO CHARACTERS IS CUSTOM....???? AND IF SO THEN IS THERE ANY SHADY GREY AREA YOU COULD GO AROUND.....?? OR WOULD YOU HAVE TO JUST MAKE THE GAME ''IDEA'' IN IT'S SELF AND SEE IF ANY PUBLISHERS LIKE THE IDEA????? :huh:

Please don't type in all caps, but to answer your question, if you made the game with a registered copy of RPG Maker XP it's totally legit. You can even sell a game that uses RTP data, though I believe you aren't able to distribute the RTP data yourself in a comercial project; the buyer may need to download the RTP themselves. Not 100% sure that you can't distribute RTP in a commercial work, I'm still looking into that, but you can definitely -utilize- any of it in a commercial game.

Yes, you can sell a game with RMXP, even it is made with the RTP (as long as you provide an external link to download, e.g. Enterbrain's Official Site).

I have tried everything I can think of. I have added it to my allowed programs in my firewall, ran it as administrator ( i have vista by the way),

set the compatability for windows xp, I even tried setting it to windows 2000 and nothing......still the same thing. I thought maybe if I download a torrent and it'll be packed.....still nothing?????? I was just starting to get the feel for the basic variations..... damn

I was going to download Postility nights version, but i read that there is something wrong with the RGSS.... I havent a clue........

I plan on buying it in the near future....... but for now i need this!!!!

Not 100% sure that you can't distribute RTP in a commercial work

 

Your not distributing the RTP if you add the RTP to your game files. The game will be encrypted so no one could access them or take them.
