First off, do not bump for atleast 24 hours; that is common courtesy.

Second, you must supply MUCH more info before anyone can help you.

Ok, I have vista so I start my RMXP off by running as administater, open my Game Folder Project2

click on Game, wait 2 secends and POP! Unexpected File Format. What file is it talking about? If I knew what file it was talking about I wouldn't be here. It did this before in my other SD Gundam Game I was making but the last one was plain RMXP, this one currently is a Mr.Mo's Script Game, But I did notice, I imported a charset in... Then a few start start ups later, Unexpected File Format, imported same charset in current game I'm having problems in, this morning, open it, Unexpected File Format, WHAT ON EARTH IS IT? PROJECT 1 HAD 1 MAP, PROJECT 2 HAD 10 MAPS, I've looked at that PNG image's propities, Fine, ok, just small on file size, 128x192, like most of the imported charsets I had in the Project's-Graphic-Charset folder in fact here it is, only shows up in Intro along with several over Anime Chars, Zero from Megaman-game, My Lucairo I made in RTP Style-No you can't have it, Gundams, Mario, SailorMoon, Oh did I mention I have 62 sd gundam charsets,

And here's the file I thinks behind it,queenberyl.png, SD Gundam Force had A dimisional transport device It's a game about what-if warps to other Animes, and Games, Heck Freedom Gundam and God Gundam get stuck in the Mos Eisley Cantina! SD RX-78-2 Gundam gets stuck in the crashed Orobous from ZX Advent, The SD Black Tri-Stars get mistoken for Heartless by Sora in KH2, Uh you still with me?Any way

I need help with THAT UNEXPECTED FILE FORMAT THING! PLZ ELP'

He didn't mean project info, but problem info. Also, this goes in the general section, Moved. Also read the other "Unexpected File Format" topic in the General Section.

Open the Game.ini file, (Configuration Settings) and check which .dll file it is using.

example:

Library=RGSS102E.dll

Then, go into C:/WINDOWS/System32 and make sure you have that right .dll file. (That is what it is for XP, i dont know about vista)

IF you do, make sure you are opening it with the right version of RPG Maker (The legal version). Opening it with a different version of RPG Maker (a higher version) is what causes this error, usually.

Dude. That last post of yours was the longest post I almost read.

Anyway, this happened to me. The best thing to do, I heard, was to make a new game and slowly copy and paste the data back into the other game. Did I mention SLOWLY. Cause if you don't... You won't be able to delete the error. Try not to shut down your computer while RPG Maker is closing or saving. That's usually when it gets an error. Hope I was able to assist you in your probem.

Your Hero,

Man, I feel bad for you :(

That same thing happened to me when i was 70% done with a game, and i tried to react what happened and i think that if you hold the power button on the computer until it turns off automaticlly, and RPG Maker XP or VX is still running, it'll currupt the game. Test this theory of mine, if you dont trust my word(I wouldn't)

do people even bother checking the dates before posting? xD

Also, if you hold down the power button to turn your computer off, regardless of whether there is a program running or not, it could lead to a potential crash, so I suggest not doing it.
