fother0 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2008 Well the Training center seems pretty dead and each section looks cut off at one point without ever being finished. Am I wrong? Maybe a few members could update it or at least finish the sections for new members like me?
RMXPirate 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2008 I believe we decided that the training center was no longer goign to be used, I cant remember but that is most likely why it is dead, we decided to keep it open so those that still do participate in the tutorials etc can do so and keep there tutorials there for our users to use. Marked 197 Report post Posted September 7, 2008 Like many things I try to create here at RMXP Unlimited, we are sort of going too big and aiming too high for where we are at. We have the resources and ability to do and create anything we want, we are just missing the most important component, active members. We made a big deal about the RMXP Training Center, and it started off not too bad. However, two months ago we hit a real slump and activity dropped by about 30%. If we follow the common trend, you will not be back here in about a weeks time. That is probably the average life expectancy of new members like yourself. Unfortunately. That will hopefully change though. There are members in the community(mostly staff) who are more than capable of being Teachers in the Training Center and have real ability to spread their knowledge. The problem is the quantity of active members. Why would they open a class to have no one really give it a go. To have something as big as a Training Center going we need to be at least 3 times bigger(at least...) to even get it going with some real productivity. I have left it open so members can view the old topics which may be useful to them. Which class in particular were you looking at taking part in?
fother0 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2008 well scripting right now, I thought it might be the most useful thing to learn. also the reason why no one probably goes on the forum for new members at least is because they have either never heard of RPG Maker or they are using another software such as Game Maker. If the software had more advertising then more people would look for help and tuts, etc and find a forum such as this one.
Marked 197 Report post Posted September 8, 2008 also the reason why no one probably goes on the forum for new members at least is because they have either never heard of RPG Maker or they are using another software such as Game Maker. If the software had more advertising then more people would look for help and tuts, etc and find a forum such as this one. You're right about that. Although there are actually a lot of people who know about RPG Maker XP and VX(RMXP has over a million downloads alone on download.com), the members coming to this forum are very new to the program. I just checked the traffic monitoring software we have and 79% of all users who come to this site are from the place where RPG Maker XP is downloaded. Meaning they are new to the program. To prove my point(or maybe not), how did you find this forum?
Leon 55 Report post Posted September 8, 2008 I'm going to be reopening the Scripting Training Center hopefully soon. Life has just gotten busy for me between teaching in a Preschool, keeping a girlfriend and maintaining a house... life sure is fun!
