Trying something different...(looking for a scripter)

Anyways, my RPG series isn't going so well...and so I'm going to give this one another shot. I'm really wanting to work with RMXP and create something awesome...but I needz help! So, read up on what Mario Party is if you don't know about it, otherwise skip the next three paragraphs.

 

For those of you who don't know, Mario Party is a series of games that started out on the N64. It is a board game where a maximum of four players (I heard there being 8 for a GCN/Wii game, never played it though so I'm not entirely sure), you win the game by acquiring more coins and/or stars than your opponents. But there's more to it, item shops allow you to buy items where different items do different stuff; such as the mushrooms where a mushroom allows you to roll two dice while a golden mushroom gives you three dice! There are also others where one can summon Boo (or chain chomp in the later games) that will steal your opponent's coins or stars for a fee. Heck, there is also a rare item that takes you directly to the space where a star lies!

 

There are also the type of spaces, blue spaces when land on give you 3 coins (towards the last few turns it may double), red spaces take away 3 coins, Bowser spaces summon...um, Bowser? Bowser has the ability to do many things to the person who summoned him or even all the characters, all of the things obviously being bad...he can steal all or your games, steal a star, or bring up a mini-game where it can be hard to win where the losers lose half of their coins. There are other spaces but we need to move on.

 

Last thing I'm mentioning...After everyone makes their turn on the board, a mini game shows up at random...it can either be a 4-Player Battle (Free for all, basically), bonus mini-game is basically a free for all but everyone can win coins, 1 vs. 3 battles, and 2 vs. 2 battles. There is also the rare occasion of a special battle popping up, where certain amount of coins are taken (decided by a roulette wheel) from each character and the winner takes most of the coins, while 2nd placed winner takes some, and sometime the 3rd place winner takes um....1 coin...lol. There are tons of the mini-games...there are other types, like Bowser's games I mentioned earlier, and Duels.

 

Mapper: Kiriashi, he'll deal with mapping...I know he'll help me, lol.

Spriter: RTP-styled sprites would look weird for this type of game probably...so, style depends on what the maps look like.

Artist: For the tilesets I'm going to see and how it looks when I draw them out and colored, I have all the art crap to do this, as well as a scanner, so yeah. :P

Battler/Character artist: For the characters from other video games and anime, I'll just use their graphics...for original characters as well as myself and my friends...I plan on having them anime-styled. So if you know anyone able to do this, please lemme know.

Musician: A lot of the music I'll be using will come from Brawl's soundtrack as well as music from the Mario Party games, though I would like to have some original stuff here.

Menus: Polraudio will be helping out on this part. Woohoo.

Eventer/Variables: Joey and Tomo2000, yeah...tons events will be dealt with here, and I'm thinking the Stars and coins you get throughout a game will be using variables...

 

I'm probably missing some stuff, so point them out if I don't see it then. Oh, and more than one person can take one position if you like. I'll add more later once this thread gets some replies and positions are taken.

I'm surprised this hasn't gotten any replies yet. This would indeed be a cool project. Yeah I'll take up mapping, though I need resources to map with ya' know. Do you have any tilesets yet? I could try to make one (put resources together with edits, not make the actual resources). Like you could make the little red and blue circles and I would put them in a tileset.

Yeah I'm surprised too...the mapping I'm going to wait though, I would like to see how it would look if I drew out the maps themselves and colored them in and all that. I have a scanner here so I could put it on the computer, I thought it would look pretty neat. If it doesn't work out I'll let you know.

Joey, if you want to get this project done for real, you are going to need to do a lot of work yourself, I offered to map for you, but I was never sent any tilesets. Have you even tried to do anything?

 

And I thought you said you were tired of RMXP and you were going to give it a rest for a while, not to mention that you said you don't want to join my contest 'cause of your Machinama. :lol:

I said I'm not entirely sure if the Machinima will happen or not, but we've all still been talking about it every night. (we meet at night on Skype)

Though we've ran into a problem that someone who's doing a script will be gone for a week....which is this week. So uh, yeah...

 

Anyways, if the Machinima doesn't happen and I'm stuck with trying to get one of my RPGs or this game going then, don't worry about the mapping just yet if I get this one going. I'm going to try and hand-draw the maps myself, its a good way to revive my artistic talent I used to have. :P

 

(it may end up me hand-drawing the tileset instead, if that's the case I'll do that and make a sketch of how the boards would look like...I'll leave the rest to you then)

I've done it before...but, I rather do something with more than just RTPs. XD

Like this for example...I just need resources and all that and I'm all good, and I'm sure this would be a great game. :P

Yes this game has potential, but you have been recruiting for ages and haven't made your art. GO DRAW IT NOW. You can do your skype at night, just spend at LEAST half an hour a day drawing the graphics. It is about time you started. I am just trying to get you on track!! ^_^

Well I would first like to know if I'm going to have some scriptors to help me out on this. I mean, if I did map out everything just to find out that no one wants to help do this...then, I pretty much did that for nothing...I'll probably do some sketches soon though. But lately my family has been feeling weird, as in sickness every now and then...me included. So I'm gonna wait till that's gone...I've been getting stomach aches and headaches and all that good stuff every now and then...>_>

Yes I know Kiriashi, lol. I'm going to wait and make sure I have what I need first, I'm trying to get a hold of Leon to see what he's up to since we need a scripter. That and I need to see how the tilesets will look on RMXP if I'm going to be drawing them out and coloring them and all that.
