how to make enemies respawn

Question

A very newbie question: I want some of the monsters respawn when the heros re-enter a map. Like the ones you use to level up the heros. Which command should I use ? Thanks in advance

ps: sorry if this question has been asked a thousand times before but I've spent 2 days surfing the web. Either the links are not accessible any more or battling is discussed on a more advanced level.

Here's an idea too - If there's not many of the monsters you want respawning, create a switch for each. Each switch should be set to ON at the beginning. Then, each time an event transfers a player to that map, add a "Control Switches" event (page 2, top button on the right hand side) which switches those switches on. Next, each time a player battles a monster, turn that monster's switch off (using the same switches event after the Battle Processing).

This is a fairly fiddly way to do things though, and may take forever if you have loads of re-spawning monsters

While that does work Jambo, polraudio's idea is more efficient and simple.

Just by simply putting the "Erase Event" command, once you battle the monster and defeat it, the event is temp. erased until the player leaves the map and returns.

It's much easier than making a switch for every single monster that walks the earth.

Yeah, I only meant for if he had a few of them - I hadn't noticed that button either :D

To each his own :P
