EmilyAnnCoons 7 Report post Posted January 25, 2007 Well, after finding out my entire game drive is corrupt and unusable, I now have to start using RMXP over from the start...I have it installed...now I have to go in and do all the finding of the graphics and crap again...I still have a couple graphics, but that's it...so...don't expect anything RMXP-wise from me for a while...gotta get all my scripts (that's gonna be hard), graphics, and other crap back -sighs and grumbles- this is the second time its happened...I'm giving up on this crappy hard drive... Marked 197 Report post Posted January 25, 2007 So you are starting your Keys to Destruction game over again? I thought you may be making a different game, by the title. Look at it this way, with all the practice you get, your game will be better than before. Have you got a CD burner? Maybe you could back up your files every so often. Leon 55 Report post Posted January 25, 2007 I am deeply sorry to hear what happened, man.
EmilyAnnCoons 7 Report post Posted January 25, 2007 I have a CD player...the problem wasn't the files...I can reuse them to a point (meaning I can reuse some of them) but there are some things I can't reuse, otherwise it will screw up my other hard drive too, so I am starting fresh. I am thinking of making a new game, this time featuring Kendra Coppersmith (need a new last name for that ><) but I need to come up with a shape shifting script if I do that... Marked 197 Report post Posted January 25, 2007 shape shifting script, now that sounds familar. Didnt you request that at the old forum? I think that was one of your first posts...I could be mistaken. From the sounds of things, you really need to get a new hardrive. Its always good to start fresh though.
EmilyAnnCoons 7 Report post Posted January 25, 2007 yeah, it was one of my first posts on the old forum...but no one there was able to fill it out, and when I posted it at CA, no one did anything with it there either...
Marked 197 Report post Posted January 26, 2007 Well I did try, I couldnt script at the time but i tried with events. Back on topic now...can you even make a game with out your hardrive screwing up?
EmilyAnnCoons 7 Report post Posted January 26, 2007 Yeah...it was just my old hard drive...I bought an 80GB hard drive a couple years back and it's never worked right...so...now I get the "joys" (yeah right) of re-installing the 20GB World of Warcraft game all over again... -sighs- we'll see about that...doubt I will...but, anyways...now I just got to figure out what to make a game of...can't make my Kendra game if I don't have an ABS system or a shape shifting system...keys to destruction and Crysatls of Chaos are currently in re-planning stage... -sighs- I have no ideas... Marked 197 Report post Posted January 26, 2007 Thats why have a storyline and plot archive, too bad its not very big yet. But what about your forum? Its all about your JoH game, i guess you may have to change some things. I cant believe World of Warcraft is 20GB, did i read wrong? Thats the size of my hardrive  You need to get a refund on your 80GB one and get one that works.
EmilyAnnCoons 7 Report post Posted January 26, 2007 yeah, it is really big, what with all the patches and crap...it takes me 12 hours to install the game so...I'm gonna leave it, cause I'll probably go back to one of them sometime...we'll have to see...
