I was just wondering, how do you go about making intro videos for RMXP games that play before the New Game/Load screen?

I saw a video of one in another section of the forums, but I havn't found any way to play something before that menu.

Requires scripting...and if you're talking about those fancy into videos...I think you need like some program. I'm not sure since I never did one of those before...but yeah, scripting.

Okay, the way this works is in the script Main, it is run when the game is running, at all times. IN that script, you find

$scene = Scene_Title.new

Now, if you change that, it will change teh first scene that appears in the game. You make a scene new scene that has a movie type thing, you can change that line, and a new scene will be shown. in that new scene. let that lead to the title, and there is your opening strip.

For me personally and the pretitle intros I make, it's all just evented.

 

I use a evented title screen script, which bypasses the title screen to just make the player's starting position the begging of the game, and I event out the intro as well as the title menu.

If you want i can whip you up a skip title screen script and you can use events to make your intro.

My game's title is all event based.
