I require an artist who can make original RTP-style sprites and batters

Recommended Posts

What I need is an artist or 2 artists; for I need original sprites and battlers made up in the RTP style. I would greatly appreciate any help here, and offer my services as a scripter in return. To be fair, here is what I need:

5 unique sprites, each a different character.

6 Unique battlers, And each one will need to be edited to support different kinds of weapons (for instance, one battler will need to be drawn 4 times, once for each different type of weapon)

Please, let me know if you are interested. And I won't just make you puny scripts. I'll make damn near anything other than a battle system or beastiary.

My brother can make some beautiful battlers for you, if only I can just get him to help. ;(. I'm going to bug him about and see if I can get him to do at least one battler for you.

There are a lot of good spriters nowadays. Jesse will help you here. I'm still trying to learn how so sprite, so sorry, mine suck to much right now.

EDIT: yes he is a sprite artist.

as far as battlers go, you're best bet would be to go to some artists on DA who will do them for commissions, I can direct you to the cheaper artists, but they'll still cost you at least 8-12$ or so per battler. You can probably work something out with someone though.

That said, do you have concept art yet? Or is this just a very loose idea? If so, I suggest getting the concept art together first, either draw it yourself get a friend to help, and sit on it for a bit.

You can always use fillers for the time being, resources like simple graphics don't hold back production, if you can show enough commitment and work, I'm sure you'd be able to get good positive attention.

For sprites, I don't have the time, but I can help you with concept art, or at least rough line art, which you can probably get colored alot easier, maybe free or at least quite cheaper, by a freelance artist.

Well if I can get my bro to do it he will do it for free. 8-12 is insane in my opinion.

Simply put, for now i am using space savers, so sprites are more dire than battlers. Further, there is no real idea to it. I mean, heck, so long as they are unique, the sprites ad battlers match, done in RTP style, and generally match teh character's attitude, I'm fine with how they do look.

Just pm me the battler pics you need sprites for. I'm best at human sprites, though.

lol, very very barely XD

The average price range for CG commissions are like 20$ or more, think about it just normally, pretty much pros, but still, one cg will take anywhere from 2.5-5 hours, divide that by the price you're getting less than minimum wage, only reason is that it 'is' free lance and that artists are always poor, lol.

I'm too slow and inconsistent to continuously take commissions, but yeah, I took 4, one 5$ and three 8$, it's really not that much at all for the time it takes.

well, free is always the better option of course, it's just a hobby after all, lol

edit-

Zue is a very good example, and she's one of the cheaper and most reliable ones too, plus, she does game design work, I only did a speed commish with her though since I don't actually need anything :\ (And I've already got a artist that I go to.)

How exactly do you charge money for a picture? I need to learn how to do that.

paypal, pretty much the same with any service over the net :P

How do you charge someone with paypal? Especially for a picture.

Do you show them a reduced-size picture? How do they know what their paying for before buying?

lol, it's 99% of the time pay first.

edit-

check Zue's Commish journal, I have it linked in the last last post.

edit2-

well, it can depend, sometimes it's seperated, Glady Faith, the one who did the chibis for CF seperated it up, the first payment came before hand, the second came after a sketch was done, and then the final product is sent.

usually the artists is paid before work is done though.

You normally won't get duped by freelance artists on DA, it really doesn't happen unless it's obvious it would.
