Hey! I made this topic to discuss the remarkable game/s "Final Fantasy!" Personally, my favourite's are between VII, VIII, X because of their story line but i'm going to have to go with VIII. I haven't played XII yet but i think it is released in Japan and/or America. My least Favourite of all the final fantasy's are between IV and IX - Sorry Final Fantasy IX Fans-_-!

So...any response to this?

The way they made FF8 was great. I especially liked the card games because i'm good at maths so it was easy for me! And just the story line...its just really, really good and i've played it a million times - do you get "Punishment" with squall before you leave to Dollet and get Siren? I do - BTW, Punishment is Squall's second best weapon!

I tell almost everyone this, but Final Fantasy is over-rated. It's the only main-stream RPG out there. And while they did more or less build the genre, they haven't introduced anything ground-breaking in terms of game-play, story-line or character concepts in years. We have enough resentful thieves and brooding swordsmen in the genre already. Do we need more? And how many earth-shattering wars can occur in one series? Does every world-threatening pretty-boy in the universe need to use a conveniently timed war to cover his actions? Or are the designers really that lazy?

But, now that I'm done bashing what is, undoubtedly, your favorite RPG series, I'll just add that my favorite was III, which I played in 1992, and was my introduction to RPGs. A close second would be Tactics, because it bore almost no resemblance to the other titles in the series.

I haven't played 3, i think. Not too sure, and i didn't really like tactics. BTW, the one with cloud in it is FF7. But people have their opinions about it - some good, some neutral, some bad. But everyone's entitled to their own opinion and they should stick by it because really, it shouldn't cause any arguments - not that there is one occuring  so yeah! I like it and i'm sticking with it.

Alright. Demondaze, nice criticism - but I don't really care what you say.

Final Fantasy is still a great series. It has its ups and downs, but overall - its fun to play.

My favorite would have to be Final Fantasy 7 - for MANY REASONS. The gameplay was amazing despite its graphical limitations. That was the first time I used an ATB system and I loved it. Battles were more fast paced than other games and required quick thinking and constant watch. The one thing I hated was that there was no map, so it was kinda hard going from some maps to the next because the trails were a bit odd.

The storyline. Oh my ******* god. This has got to be the most confusing and vague story out there, yet it still rocks hard. It has alot of good material, which is probably why square enix is plunging into that material and making a bunch of ff7-esque games and movies now. They know they have a good thing on their hands.

The whole Sephiroth-Jenova theories implemented are spectacular. Even though while you're playing it may not seem like it, there are so many connections its not even funny.

I like talking about this rather than typing, and i could on for hours about stuff like this, even with the other games (I've beaten 7-10 and tactics advanced). Well yeah, long live FF dudes!

Just for the general knowledge, III was a Japan-only release for the Nintendo Entertainment System until just recently, with it's remake on the DS. (Unless, of course, you use emulators, and then it's available in english to anybody who cares). There's also VI, which was released as III in america due to a lapse in localising the missing titles.

I'm not saying that they aren't good games, I'm just saying it's gotten a little... old. Yeah, that's it. Old.

Well...yeah...i can see where your coming from like...Final Fantasy has been around for a while and they are keeping on bringing on more games and stuff, but doesn't that prove that the final fantasy series is a success?

yeah, it proves it is a success, but at the same time, they don't change anything EVER in the series...I have played many FF games...the storyline was the same for all of them except X and X-2...X was my favorite...X-2 sucked big time...I liked FFX, but the other games were only ok...I liked the Advent Children movie, but I wouldn't play either of the FFVII games themselves...it's like how I have an obsession with Bionicle, but I won't play any Bionicle games...I collect and watch the movies and figures, but I don't play the Bionicle games, cause they really aren't that good...

FFX was deffinetly my fave and really it was the first one I played to. I was like screw FF till one day I was at a friend's house and his cousin was playing FFX. I was like HOLY (insert several bad words here). Than I started playing the other ones and 7 was deffeintly good to. I used to have it on my pc untill my computer took a crash course :D . I've yet to buy FF12 because my girlfriend bought it and she lives in Florida. So I'ma have to wait till I go visit her and move down there to play it. :D . Oh well long live FF.

I like IX, it brought back the oldies, plus Vivi is just a total badass.

Yep, what I hate about all the constant Final Fantasy Games that are coming out, is that they overkill the story. Like FFVII, they just made too many games about it, and they still are making more. They've just murdered it for me, which is why I refuse to by any spin-offs to perserve it's greatness. I'm only gonna buy main series and sequels (Like FFX-2) not Dirge of Cerberus crap.

Dirge of Cerberus was o-k, with good graphics, but not as good as the original FF7 storyline. I don't really like FF9. In my opinion, it was lame - although some bits of it were cool. Lie those lamb terrorist things. You know what i'm talking about :D
