Jesse66126 4 Report post Posted March 20, 2009 First off I'll tell you the importance of commercials. Commercials are advertisements by the sponsors of a program to buy their product who in turn use the profits to continue to pay for the show. Commercials are very bad for anime, though. Most Animes are not just edited for content, they are edited for commercial time as well. For example, the average Card Captor Sakura episode is 24 minutes long, this includes the theme song and ending credits. The American version,Card Captors, was only 18 minutes long. Scary, huh? They edit about 6 minutes per episode! The Japanese already reserved 6 minutes out of the 1/2 hour for commercials, and they went and edited out 6 more minutes for more commercials! (Not to mention they showed CC in a random order...) The moral of this story is,when you're watching anime on TV,you're always missing something! (Even if it's only Yamcha's butt.)
