A Robber in the neighborhood

Last night I was about to go to bed, when I saw a light in one of my parents vehicles, I thought it was nothing, until I saw a shadow move in it. I decided to go outside and see if it was either my imagination, or...... Apparently, there was someone outside, going through peoples cars (there weren't that many out) but when those motion senser light go off from neighbors house to neighbors house going into their cars, you have to keep a safe distance. I pretended to be taking a walk (even though I forgot my shoes :P Hey you'd probably forget as well in a situation like this) and the person probably suspected me, or decided to go to another area of houses and went between two houses. I decided then to call the police once I ran back home. No idea if they caught the person, but did I do the right thing? I could have called the police when the person was in my yard, but I didn't want to call the police for just seeing shadows, and I didn't know if the person had a gun so following the person (no idea if it was a guy or a girl since with a dark colored coat on, with the hood up, you can't really see that well) might not have been a smart idea. Did I do the right thing by following the person then calling the police to make sure I wasn't seeing things, was it stupid since the person could have had a gun, or........?

I would've snuck up on him with my katana and killed him,but that's me.

After you kill the first intruder,the other bad people in your neighborhood know not F*ck with you.

I live alone so I have to have weapons to defend myself.

I would have tried to sneak behind the person and kick them to the ground. But thats just me. Hope they got caught. Start looking in the news papers.

I agree, but Jesse that reminds me of another robber (the brake into home one). The police couldn't catch him for 7 months (in 2008, January to July) After he hit my house, he was caught 4 days later, in the act. Since I actually saw the guy, I gave the police a good descrption on him (he didn't wear a mask, and I watched a lot of mystery detective anime :P) But when I turned the lights on in the kitchen, he ran past me and ignored me as though I wasn't there. (Note, this was at 3 in the morning and i was still up at 6 thanks to the police and their questions) It even made the news that he was caought, though I don't think my name was mentioned.

 

Edit: After he left, I called the police, and by the time they finally came, the guy got a neighbors purse and another neighboras Toyota, or he got those before going to my house.

 

Edit 2: @Polraudio: I was tempted to attack with a metal pole I have, but I didn't want to take the chance of my weapon being turned against me. And since some light were on, the light would relect off the metal. (and the thing is about 6 feet tall). I basicly put my coat on (forgot my shoes :P) and followed, had my cellphone with me and ready.

Knocking out sounds good, I have a metal pole from a mop. It can do some nice damage onto the head.(I edited my last post, I'm a slow typer, I have to look at the keyboard to know what button I'm pressing) If someone breaks into your house, you have the right to defend yourself as long as you dont "overdo it". And since I have a draw with steak knives all set and ready to defend me..... Wonder if that's overdoing it?

In the old days it was custom after killing your enemies to cut of their heads and put them on a pike outside for all to see. It was barbaric,but it tells all of your enemies,"If you F*ck with me,this is what will happen to you!"

Really? That's a good way to scare your foes, chop the head off of one of them and put it on a pike in your yard. Shame you can't do that nowadays (or in certain places in america anyway).

I probably should mention that I was keeping an eye on my brother and sister since parents were out of town and at a wedding, so this was hard to deal with making sure they stay calm and out of trouble. I had my sister take a cordless phone and dial in 911, there's a "talk" button on it so she just had the number ready and will press "talk" on my command. My brother got a bamboo stick for a weapon, and my sister got some silly string and an air freshener spray (now if the air freshener hits you in the eyes, that will sting). So if the person tried to come back, we were ready.

Yeah,but remember when you do kill an intruder you have to leave him exactly where he is! Do not move the body! The police get suspicious of you if you do.

Reverse robbery sounds good Ark lol. I would have walked straight up the van ready to fight. I grew up in the hood. Hate to sound bad ass but I don't really scare on the gun thing either. I've been shot before and had guns drawn to my face. Way I see it, if you have the balls to pull the gun, you better have the balls to shoot it, and it seems a lot of people in this world, don't have that.

Well I was ready to hit the person over the head with the metal pole, then call 911 while the robber was unconcious :P That was the first thing that came to mind on what to do.

But I didn't know if the person had a gun or not. So if I did hit him on the head and if he was still concious and had a gun.......... Well I might either be in the hospital or in my grave. Which one do you think I'd be in if that did happen?

Depends where your shot and how fast someone responds. I got shot under my left arm in the rib cage. Was close to my heart but I walked away. Then again people acted quickly when it happened. Good thing you didn't though. If you died who would I be talking to right now.

I do have some fast reflexes, plus could you pull a gun out fast enough before someone (me) hits you again with the 6 to 7 foot metal pole? Either Kiriashi, Marked, Polraudio, or Arkbennett. Probably Arkbennett.

That last part where you started listing names confused me. I was like WHAT? Then I realized lol. Actually your right I probably would talk to Ark, speaking of which I'm 'bout to text him since he didn't answer my call at 1:30am last night >_<. was walking home from work.>

 

Though he isn't on the forums right now so still then my point proven I wouldn't have anyone to talk to unless someone else got robbed in their neighborhood to.
