If you had to choose one unique script in RmXP...

Okay, you are limited to a single unique script in your game. What would it be?

A Message System. All games without a good Message System look like crap. Never use Default.

So, Yea Message System.

Yeah that is just what I wanted to say, you can make a really cool game with a nice message system. In the VX game I am making (or will have to restart, you'll see why in my next topic) I thought of like, 20 different things all at once that would be cool to see that I needed a MS for.

nothing has been more of a staple to me than the UMS, theres no way I'd make a game without it.

I fully agree. 2 For Message System.

Well I can't argue with the UMS, but what about the Personal Save Files script? With that, no one can "accidentally" save over your game.

I'd have to say a different battle system would be best... UMS may make talking look better, but who really wants to use the Defult battle System? (No offence to those who actually DO want to use it)

As for the battle system, I'm not sure which one I'd use, maybe side-view. Unless you mean you can only add in one script. Inwhich case I would have to use a UMS.

never actually heard of or used the personal save file script, what does it do exactly? the default save system works pretty much I think.

as for battle system, I'd just event one, you can't really event a message system, so the UMS wins over for me, but thats really because I can do so :\ (I've a half finished card system which I plan on going back to one day, as well as that FE pack, really old stuff, the only published event system I have is that custom menu.... which reminds me, I never posted it here, I'll do that later.)

the DFB isn't terrible if you can add some little gemicks to it through eventing, it's not terrible, just really generic, and even more boring becuase it's over used since it IS the DFB for a RM.

It adds a password to your game file. So if you want to save, or load your game, you just put in your password. There's an XP and VX version of it. I'm always using it :P

If I had the time, I'd jsut personally rewrite the entire system, but that is a 'cheating' answer. If I had to choose one unique script, it would be anything that changes actor enhancement.

I mean, it is possible, to event a message system (I did it for my first game), the battle system can be changed through events, and you can even craft via events.

But true actor enhancement, and changing the overall system of actors in the game with a highly powerful and unique system, that is where it is at.

Hm, wouldn't that be interesting. Someone COMPLETELY re-writing the entire RPG Maker System of scripts to be how they want it.

Interesting yes, and also complicated. Do you know how much free time someone would have, and need to do that? No really, do you know because I don't :P (Yeah, that was a bad joke).

Edit: Oooh, post 555. I didn't know I posted that much.

Post 807???

So you really could do that? Why would you?! Aren't most of your scripts original stuff?
