Kiriashi 117 Report post Posted March 25, 2009 Yeah I know, you guys all know me, but I just wanted to make a few announcements. If you have not noticed already, I have not been half as active as I normally am. The reason is, well, my computer died. I lost everything I have ever worked on on RMXP, except 2 things that are crap xD. Don't worry, I'm giving up on anything. Even though I lost quite few maps that some of you requested, my game that I was working on, that none of you ever heard about, my "RPG Maker XP Beginner's Guide" progress (this is the second time) and some other crap. Now you might be thinking, sheesh Kiriashi, you are such an idiot. Why didn't you back up? Well, I back up every month, and this happened BEFORE my monthly back up, and this is the month that I started all of these things. Also I have a brother that thinks it is funny to ruin people's work... :( So that is why I have not been active, for I have been fixing my compy (only just today did I get a compy with Windows XP, I have been running Unbuntu :(). This is also why I have not released any mapping tutorials, but I will get those done soon. For those of you that have requested maps from me, I will not be re-completing those until I get back on track. I will PM you as soon as I start them again, so in the mean time, WORK ON YOUR GAMES! XD Just kidding...wow, this really sucks though. :( At least you're staying though, is it just me or is a lot of people's computers having trouble around this time? The way mine has been acting lately, I could be next...>_> Wait, how did your computer die exactly? I mean, if the hard drive is fine and it was something else then you're good on that part. Nisage 31 Report post Posted March 25, 2009 Do a weekly spyware, adware, and virus scan. I do, well I do now anyway :P I could put together a "Booster Pack" that has some resources I have gathered. But yeah, how did it die, and what do you mean my die, it won't turn on? And the only problem I'm having is getting onto this site (it takes a while for the page to load). Polraudio 122 Report post Posted March 25, 2009 My hard drive fried, ca-blooey, gone. I had to restart everything, re-install windows, and all my crap I had on it. Had that happen a few times with installing a few anti virus tools like Norton it asked me to restart and after i restarted it wouldn't start up. And if you have any questions about programs and stuff ask me. I know tons about computers. Enough to be a pro. (And does anyone have, or know an english RTP for XP?) EditL Nevermind, I found them here. Edit 2: The XP one is broken :( Edit 3: And the RTP fro VX from this site is in Japanese. Oh well, it's basicly a click "next" and it installs and that's it, right? Blackbound 4 Report post Posted March 26, 2009 reminds me when I had to reformatt my computer when it went on the fritz, it would start up like normal, open up start menu-CRASH-restart-commoncrash-me get pissed-put in windisk-reformat, backup SOME of it to my external ._. Joey 9 Report post Posted March 26, 2009 Yeah, my old hard drive went out too...I was lucky enough to save my RPG as well as the 2K one (dunno why I saved that one though XD).
