Online Status System

So I noticed that both Polraudio and I have a status thing in out sigs, and I as thinking, we should have a query system for this built into the site. What does this mean? Well let me explain. When you are on the index of the forums, or at the main page, there will be a small box (not a pop up like the "New PM" box), and it will be something like this: There is a drop box with two options, "Online" and "Offline". The default will be "Online". Now, if you select "Online" the first code will be added to the top or bottom of your signature (which is decided by you through another drop box), and if you select "Offline" the second code will be added to your signature. So basically, you can choose to set your status, and have it at the bottom or top of your signature. What do you guys think?

(When the page loads you have to click "Save file to PC" located at the bottom right of the page.

 

Offline looks like this and online looks like this:

Status:Online

Status:Offline

We could also have it where you could have a custom phrase, where it would add some text next to the status, just for a quick signature change. You know, so you don't have to go into the settings.

That's true. It is an interesting idea though. But I'm not 100% with it, maybe 50% with it and 50% not with it :P.

Uh, this system really makes no sense. Secondly, I have an idea of how I can get this to work but Im sure there's no current mod for it which means hours of work for an existing system(the icon beside usernames in topics).

 

You just want it in your sigs?

 

However, I like the idea of this for members in the chatroom.

Joey what he means is. Look in my sig in the very top you see how it says what im doing like at home, school or sleeping. then to the right of it, it says if im offline or online.

 

It looks like this.

Status: Home(Online)

Chat Status: Off

 

 

It would be a nice system instead of me always editing my sig all the time. But having it with a drop down menu and a custom saying on the side of it would be a good idea. It will save me lots of time.

 

Might be kind of hard to make but Marked and Emily can do almost anything over time.

In the case of Polraudio's signature, there may be a use there. It says if you're on your computer at home or school, or what you're doing when you're offline.

 

I may be able to alter a moods modification to get something similar to what you guys want.
