Marked 197 Report post Posted April 17, 2009 The Kings Assassin Last update: 13/04/2003. Before RPG Maker I used to a big Game Maker user, and to date I have made 2 completed games. The first is called The Kings Assassin. Originally I lost this game, but it some how ended up in my temp folder and I have managed to keep it for 6 years(and 4 days). Unfortunately only the executable survived, so this is a game that I made when I was 12. This game is platformer, as you will see in the screenshots. It ha a lot of flaws, but it is playable. To get the screenshots I had to complete the game which took me about 20 minutes. It has 4 levels and 4 bosses. The opening screen says the title of the game is the island of doom, just ignore that. That is the second game I made, i think. It also has my real name, ignore that also. I cant change it, but its ok since im the only new zealander here. Screenshots(sorry I made your page load slow  ) Download Game Hope you guys enjoy playing it.

Marked 197 Report post Posted April 17, 2009 Thanks Pol ^_^ See if you can get to the very last boss(the last screenshot). If you want some pointers: - Wow that hole is small - you will fit - In most bosses you can shoot. In the first boss, just hold down spacebar. - In the 3rd level, it may be hard to get past. A cheat is at the start of the level, jump onto the left branch/wall - and hold down the jump button and you'll fly straight up it - in the second level there are a lot of places you can fall down and not get out of, dont give up and be careful. -remember items give you health(not gems), so if your low you should try and collect them
Tomo2000 60 Report post Posted April 17, 2009 I used to use GM a lot also, but after RPG Maker. There was about a 2 year perioud where i serously sucked at RPG Maker and was really good at GM. Pol is right; this is a very fun game; better than anything I could do on game maker today. Just one thing; on level 1 you can fll into this small crevice. It wont let you jump to get out, but if you press space 5 times then go right, you will fall through and then jump the 5 times you pressed space bar. On a scale from 1-10, I would give this game a 9.5/10. VERY good job!

On a scale from 1-10, I would give this game a 9.5/10. VERY good job! Yeah the first level has a lot of flaws in it. The problem you're talking about I think is that the player is always getting stuck in the platforms. And since the tiles poke out and the platforms poke out(not perfectly square) then the two are always getting caught in each other. Also the jump is a bit odd, on a normal straight platform it will function properly but when you're always colliding with things it can do unexpected things. Also in the first level, if you fall down holes then you die, that should be changed also. Thanks for your rating, I'm glad you like the game. It's an especially good rating considering I was only 12 when I made this. I quite this for RPG Maker in about 2006. As you will notice there were RPG Make monsters in there from rpg maker 95 or 2000 which I had made a game with before, and after searching for a new rpg maker I discovered rpg maker xp. When I made this game I dont think i even used the internet much. Although I used to spend a lot of time making my games. ^_^
