Jesse66126 4 Report post Posted May 8, 2009 My oldest cat is 18. She has a tumor the size of a lemon. Should I have her put to sleep? Or wait for the cancer to eat her stomach?

Jesse66126 4 Report post Posted May 8, 2009 Sorry to hear about that Jesse. If your cat is going to suffer, i think you should put it to sleep. Yeah,Mom told me that, too. The cat's arthritis is killing her, too. Course,I had that cat for as long as I can remember. My family got her when I was two. Anyway,I'm going shoot a home movie of her and take a few pictures, and take her to the vet Monday. *Sighes* Poor cat. Wish cats lived longer.
Nisage 31 Report post Posted May 8, 2009 One of my cats was only about 3 or 4 years old when we found out he had a tumor. We decided to let him live until he died naturally. I was with him when he said his final meow :( I think you should try to spend your final moments with her, before whatever you decide to do. I also wish cats could live longer -sigh-
Leon 55 Report post Posted May 8, 2009 You have no idea how many times I've gone through with a dying animal. Once, we had 2 kittens with FIV. For those who don't know, that is the feline equivilant of AIDS. It was hard watching two kittens suffer... and having them put down was one of the only 2 times i've ever seen my father cry. Lately, we had to put a dog down due to arthritis... I say don't let them suffer, but stay with them as they are put to sleep... This gives them comfort and release. Suffering isn't fun. Kiriashi 117 Report post Posted May 21, 2009 I'm really sorry about that Jesse. Sorry I couldn't say sorry earlier also. I do think you should take her out of her misery though. Its the best thing to do, and the right thing to do. Really sorry to hear that man.
