Marked 197 Report post Posted May 15, 2009 This category is pretty dead at the moment, so I'd like to fix it up! First of all, I would like to know what engines you guys would like to see RMXP Unlimited support. Emily and I have decided to diversify, or integrate, by supporting more engines than just the RPG Makers. So lets try and get the ball rolling. I plan to add the logo of each engine in the forum description so its obvious which engines are supported, and see we can't get this section used. So far on the list are: Game Maker Adventure Game Maker Adventure Game Studio Suggestions: Multimedia Fusion 2. FPSC C++
Kiriashi 117 Report post Posted May 15, 2009 Well when it is released, I'd like to see an Action Game Maker section, or have that in the list. Probably the latter, because it might not get that much attention. I tried Game Maker and thought it was interesting, but I don't think it should be in the list. People are probably going to talk about Game Maker in the GM forums. Thats my two cents.
Marked 197 Report post Posted May 18, 2009 Thanks for your reply Kiriashi. So what you'd like to see we already have in progress, thats good. With Game Maker, you're probably right the GM forums. I think I saw them once and its a forum made by the owners of Game Maker? So obviously they have a huge percentage of GM users already loyal to them. Although there are also the RPG Maker giants in .ORG and rpgrevolution, which leave us with a very small portion of the community. Point being, we should still at least give it a go. I think we should try as many engines that are popular as we can, as trials, and weed out the ones that do not get any response. So do any others come to mind? This is just for suggestions so you guys have a say, in the end the administrators will finalize which engines we'll choose to have a place for.

formlesstree4 18 Report post Posted May 18, 2009 FPSC
formlesstree4 18 Report post Posted May 19, 2009 C++ vb.net then if we're gonna use languages :D I could contribute a lot of program codes to vb.net....not really game engine, but some of my own coding.
Chief 30 Report post Posted May 19, 2009 hmm, in my eyes, C++ seems that it would be better for a massive online game.
formlesstree4 18 Report post Posted May 19, 2009 hmm, in my eyes, C++ seems that it would be better for a massive online game. That is true, vb.net does do sockets however, and in the right hands, has powerful gaming possibilities...however, that isn't my job :P, after all, Marked and the other admin's make the final decision! Chief 30 Report post Posted May 20, 2009 meh, C++ wins in my eyes. but whatever.
Marked 197 Report post Posted May 20, 2009 I've added suggestions so far to the first post. Seems like you guys are interested in 3D game making? We're a 2D gaming community obviously, do you think it would work or be beneficial if we mixed it up with 3D engines also? (please give me some feedback) If so, then I'd add 3D Game Studio. With that engine you can use C-Script, C++ or C-Lite which is a really powerful and simple scripting language. The only issue with this is the members who whinge about RMXP being too difficult wont stand a chance.

Blackbound 4 Report post Posted May 27, 2009 if we do mix with 3D engines, I would like to add a few as well: Blender is a good choice so is Baja (written in C++)
Kiriashi 117 Report post Posted May 27, 2009 Oh yeah, defiantly blender. Another great 3D design and programming device is Maya. That's how I think it is spelled at least, I'll go get it out of my closet and see. Also, for the little noobies there is MyGameBuilder. This shouldn't be put on the list but I thought I'd just let ya'll know about it. Its a game making program made in flash; not very versatile but its REALLY easy. Dr.Weavil 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2009 Anyone tried Sauerbraten yet? it's in a shooting game format I'm afraid, but it has the ability to make AMAzing Buildings and allows for the use of all sorts of things here's an example of it, it's kinda hard to use until you get practice.... Oh, and it's free
